View Full Version : What can Carlton offer as trade bait?

Not a hell of a lot.

Whitnall to Geelong could work.

No-one would take Kouta or McKernan

Port may be desperate enough to pick up Campo

I reckon Sheeds would take a punt on Matty Allan

Plunkett, Franchina or Fletcher......Richmond?

Simon Wiggins....perhaps to the Dogs with his brother?

Eccles, Murphy, Freeborn, Matthews, Merrington will all get the chop me thinks

Beasy showed a bit in the game time he got. Will probably be retained if McKernan or Allan go. If not...St Kilda?

Ryan Houlihan is definite trade bait. I could see him going to Richmond.

Livingston to Geelong perhaps? A tall defender would go down well. Same applies to Prendergast.

Angwin, Campbell, Fevola, Waite, Fisher, Beaumont, Hulme, Sporn and Thornton must kept be off limits.

Mind you, this is all speculation of course...as is the other 99% of the stuff on here.

'Cept for the certainity of Martyn being at least the equivalent of a first round pick....or Nick Stevens. :p

McKernhan, Beaumont, Allan, Murphy won't be at Carlton next year, think Carlton will trade these four for middle range players Pagan thinks he can make better or trade them for 3rd round draft picks. Who knows what will happen in silly season.

I reckon Matty Allan has to be a good chance to go to the Dons. One of the main things to come out of the game last night is that the Dons need a ruckman. Hille is a very useful player but will never be the main ruckman in a side unless he has very good support.

Consequently Allan's value has gone up. Saints might have to come up with something good to get Allan now.

Clubs would take kouta and mckernan but not on their current salaries - the Blues would have to pay most of their salaries or accept "like' players (ie a mercuri).

Beaumont is definitely gone.;)

I don't think you'll see us doing many trades, but late in the draft when every other team doesnt use their pick, we'll be picking 2 players from WA, and maybe 2 others from country Vic.;)

Nah, the offer sits at Steve Lawrence.

If you can offer McGrath or Henneman, you win.

What do you want for Whitnall CammoAU? Wojcinski + Spriggs + 3rd pick?

Whitnall aint goin anywhere...what would you give us for McKernan.....3rd round pick? (I reckon that's all he's worth)

Don't be so sure of that. Many Carlton fans seem to think he is expendable at the right price and with Campo saying he doesn't want to be traded then you don't have much else to work with.

Nothing. He has very little football left in him.

Pick #2 and Whitnall.

That is all they have.

Remember reading somewhere about a potential 3 way trade with Rawlings going to Carlton, Whitnall to the Cats and....someone going to the Hawks.

Either way, I liked it.

Whitnall at CHB is a failure. I remember when they played him on Riewoldt at the start of the year and the guy took about 6 uncontested marks in the Saints attacking half in the first quarter. Was ****ing ridiculous

corad - freeborn + wiggins
Rawlings - whitnall to geelong, pick 7 to hawthorn
Brown - pick 2
h black - allan
n stevens - campo

I like all of those trades bar the Brown one. I still think Lappin is the better small forward.

You reckon Port would trade Stevens for Campo though????

port will take campo for stevo for sure
the brown thing is a bit dodgy but i still reckon brown will be at carlton next yr but im not quite for what
mc kernan will probably go to essendon but not sure what for maybe a three way deal involvin carlton n brown

Nick Stevens, 21 (?), one of the Brownlow medal favorites and fairly consistent player

for

Scott Camporeale, 27, inconsistent, cracks the ****s when tagged and hasn't got much left in him as a running midfielder.

I'd take that 9 times out of 10. Nick Stevens is a future Brownlow medalist.

I would love Lance at Melbourne.

Jeff White + something else?

Brad Green + a bit more?

Campo for who?

Didn't Port trade Michael Stevens to North last year?

Nick Stevens? What about him? You're talking about Nick Stevens? As a trade for Campo? Oh, my.

Straight swap would be no chance. Port would want more than just Campo as Stevens has age on his side.
