Hey guys,
good luck. Should be a great game. Always had respect for Port Adelaide. Admire the history and tradition. So it is great to see two great traditional clubs battling it out at the MCG in September for a Grand Final berth.

Good luck.

Go Pies. ;)

1. No trip to Perth
2. Playing sides that come back from Perth the wek after
3. No video of the dust ups in the Pies/Blues game
4. Holland only two weeks suspension
5. Friday games and Saturday games therefore ensuring most rest for players

Collingwood is the AFL's lovechild and the sad part is that if they win the premiership the rest of Australia can say it was undeserved.

I would like to see Williams implement a similar gameplan to what he used against Essendon against Collingwood this week.

Leave Tredrea 1 out in the goal square, have 2 other forwards on each corner of the center square, and play a few spare men back in Collingwood's attack.

I want to see us flood heavily in the 1st and maybe 2nd quarter and bring the game to a slow grind early. This will make it hard for Collingwood to score taking the pro-Collingwood crowd out of the game.

If silencing the crowd is a genuine objective, which I hope its not, I hope we don't flood. All that does is get them angry and make them extra loud when the play does get going.

Yes it gets them angry but hopefully their anger will turn on their players who can't score.

I would rather the they kick the odd goal and cheer extra loud rather then them kick 2-4 goals in a row and have the crowd going off.

Actually I think Port should have a preset gameplan in place that if a side kicks 3 goals in a row either Cornes or Tredrea automatically go down to defence as an extra defender.

Flood all you like, we can kick them from 60.

Slow grind is Collingwood's style. If you saw Talking Footy, they showed our stats in that in the past 2 years we have only lost one game when we have been leading at any of the breaks. The key is a quick, strong and physical start. Collingwood have had the week off they will be fresh, but it is possible that they will also be slightly off the boil in the first quarter. In this game it is vitally important that we strike hard and early.

I would assume the 'lightening bolt' away strip.

I wish I had written it down it was something like:

1st quarter ahead - 38W 1L
2nd Quarter Ahead - 39W 0L
3rd Quarter Ahead - 38W 0L

Niiiiiice.

Oh yeah well Collingwood win 100% of their games when leading at the end of the 4th quarter. :p

Its an ironic stat. Doesn't it mean we do basically the opposite of choke?

I guess as long as we get in front at a break at some stage during the game we usually win, however in games that we "choke" generally we've been behind right from the start.

So it is possible to be both a great frontrunner plus a choker.

We only scored 9 goals against Brisbane but the atmosphere was outstanding during the whole game. Keeping it low scoring isn't going to shut us up. Doing what Brisbane did in round 19 and slamming us in the first quarter will.

I'm tipping that whoever gets off to the better start will win. I'm really looking foward to this one, have been all week, and at least I know if we lose we lost to a quality outfit. But I'll still be filthy if we go down.

Yeah I might have to change my opinion and think that Port should try to get off to a flyer.

Thanks for the accolades and it's a pity we couldn't meet in the GF... all the best.
