St Kilda assistant coach Matt Rendell has recently stated that gaining the services of an experienced ruckman is not a priority for the Saints during the upcoming trade period.
Agree or Disagree?

Disagree.

After Capuano was fired, they looked pathetic in the ruck department. Unlucky with injuries, but a first-string ruckman should be a priority. Not much point filling the team with talented players if they don't get first use of the footy

I don't understand why they did delist him
look at these stats

Rnd Posessions HitOuts
1 16 15 not bad
2 6 3 disgraceful
3 11 10 fail grade
4 DNP
5 DNP
6 DNP
7 5 5 disgraceful
8 8 7 disgraceful
9 5 3 disgraceful

and a grand total of 7 tackles for the season

Facts
Was never the saints No 1 ruckman (hardly a ruckman at all)
Most ruckman who have a good day get at least 30 hit outs a match.
Also during this time he was playing great footy at the VFL level, keeping the young developing ruckmen from have a crack at that level, therefore disadvantaging the saints greatly.
Saints ruck diviision was hurt a lot more strongly with Barry Brooks and trent knoble going down with injuries the following round.
It was a good gutsy decision which in the long term will benefit the club.
Sawing that the saints do need anther ruckman, even if it is a hack slightly better than capuano.

From what my StKilda supporting mates say to me, Strongly Disagree.

I'm a saints member, and have gone to a lot of games the last 3 years, the ones I don't goto I watch on fox footy. Capuano played one good game for us in rnd 22 2001 against Hawthorn. Yes It probably hurt us on the field this year (we weren't going to win a premereship this year anyway), but will help us in the long run.

P.S The comments made by Grant Thomas about being mediocre were harsh and probably a mistake, and would regret saying them

maybe Matt Rendell is going to make a comeback

they need a ruckman badly - I'd be happy if they don't pick one up though

They need one.

Knobel and Brooks, although they will be good, need another year.
Koschitzke will help, but not enough.

We'll cheerfully trade one, or both, of Allan and McKernan to you.

What would you like?

St Kilda will invest time and experience in the ruckmen they already have. Grant Thomas has a while longer yet to build his super list.

It's Lawrence for Allan.

No more, not negotiable.

(45th time I reckon I've said that).

Take or leave.

Wouldn't touch McKernan with a barge pole, Kosi would be an infinitely better option, so would Maguire and Blake for that matter. Allan will be considered no doubt but I think Brisbanes 3rd ruckman would be the best option.

Jamie Charman, Dean Cox and Mark Seaby will be at the top of the hitlist.

Scored Cox + 2nd rounder for Montagna during the 'trade manager' from Sera. I liked that :)

They need one, and want one,

They say these things so that rumours wont fly around..
