lol @ mightyfighting.:)
Williamstown are possibly the most arrogant side in VFL history, a complete bunch of up start ****ers :D .
Box Hill on the other hand have a great bunch of young blokes and id think will be alot quicker than Willy. Although i cant stand that Mouth Libba im hoping Box Hill give Willy and its Grandma supporters the biggest flogging ever.
Also lets pray that the Bullants start that day off with a mauling of the Willy 2s, Both Willy sides are scum and apart from a couple of players, deserve to be flogged lol.
cheers

At least there might be a half decent crowd at Optus Oval with these two sides playing.
Will be a great grand final.
Willi looked very good today, in awful conditions.

A bit like Gary Moorcroft was on Saturday? ;)
The reserves final should be a pearler too - Bullants v Willi, 2 pretty strong sides.
Willi will go in favourites due to having access to more Collingwood players and having smashed the Mustangs just a fortnight ago.
If Box Hill can stay with them until half time it's game on. Looking forward to it - both teams have good support bases and if the weather is good it should be an excellent crowd.

Really? I haven't seen the tape yet. Will probably watch it tomorrow. I hope Phil gets excited about the game.
For the first time ever I will go early for the reserves Grand Final. Normally I can't stand the reserves, but this years should be a beauty, plus I think the standard has picked up the last 12 months!
My last Sunday at footy for the year :( but its always a great day at the VFL Grand Final. Get along if you've never been before.

Sandringham have put in an official complaint about the treatment that Moorcroft andd some other Zebra players recieved from the Box hill supporters on the oval.
Its time the VFL banned fans on the groind during finals matches before there is an ugly or even a violent incident involving overheated fans, officials and players.

HAHAHA! You're kidding. Box Hill should put in a counter-complaint about the Sandy supporter who ran up to Libba and abused him at 3 quarter time. It was quite a spray, calling him an "effing cheat" and worse.
From all reports the worst behaved person at the ground on Saturday was Gary's missus - apparently she went ballistic when the crowd started telling Moorcroft where to go after he belted Matthew Ball in the goal square.
Moorcroft also invited one of the fans to join him on the ground for a bit of a skirmish.
Would be a real shame if people were banned from going on the ground, it's one of the selling points of the VFL.

It would take only one bad injury to a spectator and the insurance people would make sure nobody thats not in an official role is allowed on the ground at breaks.
The VFL are playing with fire and could get burnt.
It also drags down the image of the VFL to that of some hick country league.

Well sort of...only on the side of the ground that the cameras face! In the past they rope off the grandstands on the other side of the ground so it looks better on the TV!!!! And in the Legends Stand they normally put signs up so you can't sit there either.
I'm going for Willy. I can't get enough Willy. I love Willy!

I suppose it will depend on how many turn up on the day and the weather will play a big part in determining that.

http://stereo974.tripod.com/vfl_news.html
...Brad gained an opportunity to play AFL with Footscray in 1995 but a broken leg curtailed his career with the Dogs. Hawthorn then picked him up in the 1997 draft at pick number 67. He played 11 games with Hawks and enjoyed being part of the 1999 Ansett Cup Premeirship team. Injuries restricted his ability to play at the highest level and once delisted he had to decided on captaining the Box Hill Hawks or returning to Williamstown. He chose Williamstown thanks to a call from Seagull club legend Barry Round." He rang me up and said that if I am not playing at an AFL club then Williamstown is your home and we would like you to return. I thought about it and decided he was right especially with my family history with the club." Brad Lloyd said.
One of Brad's favourite footballing memories is of watching his older brother Simon win the 1990 VFA grand final whilst playing for Williamstown. Brad who was 15 at the time remembers, "It was the best game of football and the most memorable game I have been to. Matty and I watched from behind the goals as Billy Swan kicked the winning goal. That night in the streets of Williamstown it was like a carnival." Simon who was honoured to be given the vice captaincy of Williamstown in his playing career is very proud of his brother's achievements. "I am rapt that Brad is the Captain of such a proud traditional club. It is a great honour for him and he is an ideal captain. It would have been great to play under him."
===============================
I was only a whipper snapper at the time, but Williamstown partied hard that night.
I've still got the game on tape. Time to dust it off and see if Ian Rickman can still kick it 70m, Grant Smith can fly for a screamer or if Billy Swan's hamstring can prevent him from kicking that goal.

Saturday is Eddie's day.
Sunday is Seagull day.
Eddie can join the Blue and Gold bandwagon for the day, if he wants.
Williamstown is currently one of the 8 or 9 biggest AFL/VFL clubs in Melbourne. We're always on the news, always on Talking Footy, always on The Footy Show.
Soon we'll be bigger than Collingwood.

WOOHOO GAME OVER WILLY WON BY 29PTS, YEAH BABY.
The willy ressies won as well, thats even better, cause my friends plays for them.
What I want to know is how much difference did having the extra Collingwood players available to Willy make? Nothing against their win but you have to wonder how level the playing field is.

Fair enough to mention that 15 Collingwood listed players played for Willy, but you have to take in to account that of them a fair few have played their whole career at Willy so far - Richards, Cloke, Shackleton, King.
Anyways, yay Willy!

Good win to Willywood but I think a little unfair.
I think the VFL will have to restrict the number of AFL players to say 12 per team in the GF in future.
Good crowd of 18,000 considering the beautifull day and Direct telecast.

Why ?
Box Hill had a lot of players with AFL experience.Willy's big advantage was their experienced players in Fletcher,Lloyd & West.
You can't restrict a side to 12 AFL players. How does a stand alone club like Geelong manage that ?

IMO there shouldnt be ANY AFL reserves "stand alone" clubs in the VFL that solves the problem very easily.

The AFL clubs would never support a restriction on number of AFL listed players - defeats the purpose of having a competition for younger players to play in. I suspect they will raise the number of games needed to play for finals eligibility, but that doesn't solve the problem of when the AFL and VFL sides are both still going.
Can't complain - Box Hill got the same deal in 2001.
The reason Willi won was they wanted it more and had bigger bodies.

Im with you!
The only way to solve this problem of the unfairness of the VFL GF is to scrub the alignments and farm the AFL players out to all the VFL teams but I cant see the AFL clubs agreeing to this.
Or of course let the AFL run their own reserves again but they wont want to do that either better to use up the former VFA clubs and their free work force to blood their players of the future.
