I am not to sure that we have actually picked up any fresh vics this year. NP_#1 on here is an ex-pat vic but plyed with us last year. number 2 Matty Kimpton you may have heard his name banded around here a bit is actually a QLDER just a great footballer. Didnt play teh roosters game and as i said before still too early to really tell who will be fit and ready to go. Coomera and Caboolture will be an interesting battle in both grade the winner of the twos takes the second spot and in the seniors the winner can put a game on the other and really start to cement their place in the top 5.
Thanks mate. im looking forward to seeing u guys play. ill be looking out for 1 and 2.

Must of missed it mate sorry i just couldnt resist.
Oh good, I was hoping they would strengthen their squad
We have had a few walk ins in the past week ourselves, should make for a good game.
Been down to your ground recently Morro - nice oval i reckon with the white picket fence. Bit close to the boundary but very few ovals are perfect.

Its normally immaculate Smy, one of the best on the coast but all the rain really took its toll in the last 6 weeks or so.
Suprisingly I have never seen anyone hit the fence.(touch wood)

Don't waste ur time watching me mate keep an eye on 44 11 and 69 game breakers . Number 7 and 2 will demand you to watch them just because they always have the ball very classy.

Gaz,
I have a mate who was playing seniors against you blokes on the weekend, number 6. He was involved in an incident before halftime where the result was a red card and he was sent off for "charging". As I wasn't at the match on the weekend, I am just wondering if you saw this bit of play and available to comment on whether the red was deserved, or if you have any other view on what happened.
There seems to be 2 sides of the story one being the red was for charging, the other view saying a yellow was awarded initially for the late contact then further abuse to the umpire resulted in the red card being issued. Any comments you can add would be much appreciated.
Also, the bloke filming had offered to make a copy for $15, any way this bloke can be contacted?
cheers
Yeah I was at the other end of the ground so didnt have a great view at the time but I've watched the footage and your mate was about 5 seconds late for the spoil and I assume that he got the red for that. I wish we had some footage of his carry on when he came off! He kicked the coaches box and nearly fell over because he hurt his foot. It was more entertaining than the game.
My mate has a copy, pm me your details and I'll see if he'll copy it and send it up.

Rematch against Logan Cobras this Saturday for UQ will be a massive test, especially for the ressies who need to bounce back after dropping down the ladder substantially. Unfortunuately won't be in attendence to chat with Les the Interchange Steward who would I have always rated very highly as a person and a club person (top volunteer in the entire league) since I'll be up at Aspley with Division 1.
With any luck, there won't be a repeat of the violence and off field bullshit that landed on both club. Either way, a tough task football wise on the weekend, but am sure the boys will give it their best shot,

My oh my it's been quiet !
Cheers for your words of wisdom RUL. Div2 has lost a fantastic clubman and camera man!!
'its a crock' my old mate would you like a wager on Saturday nights game? your lions are woeful, Morningside would beat the Briabane Lions at the moment. Tigers by 10 goals! RUL has lost faith in his beloved lions and not attending the gabba, instead having a poker night at his! I suggest all Lions fans join him and dont watch the game as it's going to get ugly for you
Saturday night!
I heard the A-Train has done a hammy at training tonight and is out for 4 weeks or so!!!!!

Tips for this weekend guys?
Calamvale v Redcliffe @ Calamvale
Coomera v Caboolture @ Coomera
Beenleigh v Nambour @ Dauth Park
Ipswitch v Griffith @ Limestone Park
UQ v Logan @ Oval 7
I think there is some good battles here I will tip
Leopards for the upset at home
Coomera should win this one at home as well
Very hard call at Dauth Park but will go with hoem ground advantage and say Buffs by a kick
Ipswitch should easily account for Griffith
And Logan too Strong for UQ
In the twos
Redcliffe should win at the college
Tight Contest at Coomera but i think the pies can pip it at home
Buffs shoudl be too good for Nambour
Ipswitch should get the double
and UQ to bounce back adn win by a kick

Not sure what the go is here with a new thread opening up on its own and bringing some of the old stuff over must of got too big on the other one. Anywyas been very quiet on here did everyone go on holidays?
was just thinking the same thing.
I noticed the last thread had been cleaned up by the mod also so assume it was his/her doing.
Hey Watto can you confirm if the A-train rumour is true?
Big blow to his 100 goal season aspirations
:(

Hey guys,
So I just got back from overseas, I went and watched beenleigh train Tuesday night, seemed to be a few not there and from what I can tell. my mate np_#1 just ran laps is there anything to worry about there?
And why so little people when its the biggest game of the year for them?
I started this season as just a supporter of football but I think I'm now a supporter of beenleigh but I will continue to watch other games!
From things I have read I'm keen to see this Munga guy what number is he?
I'll give you my honest oppinon after saturdays game!
Good luck to all teams and there players coming into the pointy end of season.
Can anyone that is involved with clubs give an inside as to what they hope to get out of the remaining games?

You won't be disappointed In Munga . Keep an eye on 69 this week extremely fit no one from any team will be able to match his fitness .
Sorry paddlepop I still haven't learnt grammar or punctuation to busy trying to find my faulse teeth

If you are supporting Beeneligh this weekend then you shoudl def get inside the club grab a $3 Corona and go out on teh balcony. Any of the guys out there would be more then happy to help you out with who the players are and the more supporters we get down there the better the better the atmosphere. I woudl hate to be an opposition player in that pocket/up that wing.

Due to the Richmond Tigers pre-game function starting at 3pm I can safely say 6-8 of our best players all Tigers fans will be dropping down to play 2's v the cobra's. The Gabba match being the only reason for this of course ;)

My tips,
Leopards at home. The Train to take it a bit easy on the opposition this week and only bag 8. 3 in the first quarter, 5 in the last.
Magpies to beat Caboolture at home by 2 kicks, should be a cracking game tho.
The source from up north suggests Nambour to beat the buffs by 6 goals at least. Mungtrain to have minimal effect on the game.
Ipswitch should kill Griffith pretty easy by about 10 goals.
Cobbies too smart for UQ at St Lucia. UQ ressies to get up and make sure they are still in finals contention.

Mmm can't sense any sarcasm there. Be surprised to find 6-8 Richmond supporters, let alone 2 at any club. If I can recall you guys dropped players back last season when you had no hope of playing in the Senior Finals so not unexpected if it does occur. Oh well will just make the Cobras victory all that much sweeter if we can get over the line...

And just cause you don't like the guy doesn't mean you should make rash comments. the3 Mungtrain is starting to get momentum and teh inclution of a big fit defender who can go forward might just prove teh difference. Buffs by a kick

No names to be mentioned, but this source is very much a part of the coaching department.
Haha I dont have anything against the mungtrain personally but Its fair to say we clash on the field lol. This forum needs a bit of spark at times!
I reckon the Buffs may not be quite up to the standard of Nambour if they bring their A-game tomorrow is all im saying. Will be interesting to see the sms from 'the source from up north' at approx 4.30 tomorrow....

Well there was a guy who hung around Nambour FC 15 years ago who was "mentally challenged" but he was a good bloke so I'll discount him. Hmmm, must be a bloke who enjoys listening to your exploits in Div 2 footy all the same bc i'm sure he wouldn't get a word in sideways.

Are u serious 69 Chris reese did not and I reapete did not have a foot injury. Pull your head in ... up the buffs ! Nambour quality opponents .
Hey Smy, maybe you will listen to me now about Div2? Would like to know how close to full strength Nambour were though. We were pretty close.
Also be curious to hear what Assjar thought of our senior team and the way they went about it. There were alot of nambour people whinging that we were thugs etc but I believe nambour were just as responsible for the spot fires during the match. All in all it was a great game to watch and the skill level was top notch.
And finally, I thought it was the best coaching display from our senior coach I have seen in my time at the club. he has introduced a few things that most Div2 coaches would have no idea about. Suddenly there is a cat amongst the pigeons and the 2 horse race has a new challenger.

Hey Watto, if you know anyone that watched our game, can I suggest asking them what effect Mungaaaaaaaaa had on the contest, or maybe Google him :D
I think his crunching, fair tackles resulted in 2 guys leaving the field not to mention his goal assists and marking. He is getting better and better each week after a long lay off and is only showing glimpses of how much he can impact a game. Watch this space in a months time.

Don't follow them that closely BUT despite what you say, there seems to be a MASSIVE gulf between the top 3 sides and the rest. Hey Watto have you sacked yoru so called source from the north yet? boy did he lead you a stray. And with 8 senior players in the twos you still couldnt get a win. Even if it was a classy Logan outfit in the twos you played still should have got the job done with 8 of your best going down.
Nambour fought hard all day but i still think they were missing a few although the guys seemed addiment that, that was the best 22 they possessed. Look forward to seeign how they go at Logan in a few weeks. And any news on what happened down at Coomera Sports Park on the weekend? Injuries? weddings? too much piss at the boathouse on friday night?

Nothing too serious mate, just a few spot fires here and there.
What I did notice is that Nambour were quite a short team on the weekend and really struggled with our talls. Although there ruckman is a giraffe and goes very well in the ruck.

Ah yeah I have heard that Possum bloke goes alright. Their coach tried telling our coach it was their best 22 but we knew it wasnt.
I heard from a reliable source that Coomera had 7 senior players missing but you hear this crap everyweek from every side. Does anyone ever have their best 22? I think not.

Just for the record two players went down from Logan within the first 10 minutes of the match. One with a broken wrist and the other with a knee injury. We had two on the bench most of the day...

Well done to the Buffs, was a great game on the weekend... Nambour did struggle with the talls of the buffs.. And yes they did have afew out but who doesn't... There is a couple of big games coming up in the next few weeks should be interesting to see who's up for it and who's not....
ps smy1305, Watto has some GOOD mates from Nambour fc... Even though his a Richmond supporting W*nka haha

Just for the record two players went down from Logan within the first 10 minutes of the match. One with a broken wrist and the other with a knee injury. We had two on the bench most of the day...
Mate as i said Logan does have some depth and class down there and it would not have been an easy day for UQ and I do actually rate the Logan twos as the quiet achiever in the lower part of the finals sides.

[quote=Morro;21384129]Ah yeah I have heard that Possum bloke goes alright. Their coach tried telling our coach it was their best 22 but we knew it wasnt.
Makes a refreshing change from people making excuses though Morro. If Possum didn't play + a few others then it wasn't their best group but hell, when does any side have their best 22 running around? Premierships are won by about 30 players, not 22 as a general rule, no matter what the standard I find.
Think you will find that the Nambour coach is a pretty level headed young fella who is enjoying his first sortie into coaching senior footy!!

True, but why say that is the best they have when it clearly wasnt?
I am not bagging him as a person, I dont know the guy.
Regarding the 30 player rule, I agree in most cases, but in Div2 you will find most clubs dont run that deep.

Thanks for clearing that up Jed, I was losing sooo much sleep over SMY1305 accusing me of having nothing to do with Nambour, when he has just stated in a previous post that he has "Fair enough Morro - TBH no idea if Nambour were at full strength or close to it. Don't follow them that closely".
Jed- can you shed any light on how long the great 'possum' will be out for? He is clearly the best defender in the comp and would hate for him not to be fit and ready for the next encounter with Logan.
Go Tig'es - are you still bitter about saturday nights result mate?
The source from up North is a player and a good mate of mine. He did give me late mail of Nambour having a few out after my predictions they would roll the buffs by 6 goals. I think they will bounce back pretty well after this loss. Consider this your final warning source from up north!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We didnt have 8 seniors drop down to play ressies, I was simply stirring up Holla7. Although perhaps we should have dropped one or 2 down as the game was closer than I was expecting during this exam period that is currently screwing us over hardcore!!
Another point to raise from playing against Logan, who is the bloke they call millsy? (not D.Milligan) very quick player and would fly under the radar a bit when sides are looking to shut down the cobbies finest players being Milligan and both Witney boys. I dont know how the blokes doing the votes at Logan split these 3 players every week....
first lose of the season.. is it a bad thing? i dont think so. just a good kick up the arse for the boys.
in regards to the dirty sniping or whatever, i didnt actually play cause of injury but from what i saw the buff boys certainly werent afraid of putting in a late hit or anything but was nothing to bad. cant remember much, gota love having a sports club next to the ground. $4 schooners + a tab = good arvo!
with injuries.. that was a best 22 we could have fielded and we certainly expect any 22 we put out this year to win. we just werent on the ball and our intestity just was a little down.
looking forward to this weekend. first home game for us all year. and im sure the boys will be looking for a big win after the first lose.
and watto does have a source at nambour. the source told me to stop being mean to watto.
and on a side note. springer kicked the goal of the year on saturday. 45 out hard on the boundary left foot kick at full pace.

Because he probably knows what it feels like when he speaks to opposition coaches and all he hears is "oh we had 5 out" - it really doesn't matter who you have out, its more about who you have in IMO.
You would want to run down to player 30 Morro because he will get a game this year won't he? Might not win you too many matches but when asked to play needs to step up I'm sure; thats all i mean basically. Think most Div 2 sides might not run much deeper than 24 in reality - would I be right?

Just remember tone isn't conveyed on a forum watto so you need to be carful because other teams read that then it makes you look stupid when you do lose with everyone thinking you guys dropped 8 back but seems you didnt it was an expected result a close game
At teh end of teh day though guys doesnt matter who was out and who was in teh results are in the book now and everyone just has to concentrate on next week.

Spot on. Most sides in Div2 if they are honest, dont run much deeper than a starting 18, seems to drop away pretty quick after that for alot of sides.

Remember that and he had no right to slot that one through :D

The highlighted part is absolute crap IMO, your blokes were more than happy to have a go at times also.
I think the game, which was also stated as such by the umpires, was a pretty fair but hard contest. Neither team any more late in their hits etc than the other.
and on a side note. springer kicked the goal of the year on saturday. 45 out hard on the boundary left foot kick at full pace.
This would be a legit contender for goal of the year in any comp its was a great goal!
His left foot kicks are beautiful to watch. You wouldnt know that he was a right footer. There is a reason why he played Noosa seniors and trained with the Gold Coast. Should be playing in the Pineapple Hotel Cup.

It was a legit question with nothing but genuine interest. No need to be so defensive champ.
he enjoys playing footy with his mates. he doesnt actually follow any team or watch the game. he played juniors with us, and most of us guys are great mates with him. glad he came back to us :)

But he wouldn't be playing assjar if his Dad wasn't having a kick from what i understand.
Part of the original list of boys in the training group for GC-17 Morro 3 years ago now i think. Was a good footballer for Noosa last year, they were disappointed to see him go but then his old man was playing in the 2's with Noosa at the time!
His Dad probably played on the weekend - is about 45yrs old if it makes you feel any worse! Was a very handy player back in the 90's - played Teal Cup for Qld i think.

Would be a huge buzz runnin around with your old man, imagine winning a flag together, not too many blokes could claim to have done that
45 is a bloody massive effort to still be playing at any level let alone a strong senior team.

Morro i was lucky enough to see the game on the weekend .and about the best coaching u have ever seen. All they did was similar to an 18 man zone, all their defenders pressed up the ground to with 50-80 metres of the ball. Pretty much every AFL club does it so I dont think to many coaches would 'have no idea about it.

There was a little more to it than that and the fact you didnt pick up on everything only enhances my point. You must admit that the press caused them a few headaches though.
Also I said in my time at the club, not in my time in the AFL or higher comps etc.
ps. Are you a neautral supporter? if so I would like to hear your thoughts on the game.

I hope NP isnt silly enough to share that info on a public forum.
What I can say is, the new plans only started a month ago so we will catch a few teams off guard I would think.

Hmmm I sure do hope the possum makes a speedy recovery, or at least has his drinking boots on when we make the trek up the highway in 3 weeks.
Can you also shed some light on other injuries at Nambour, such as the current injury to my mate commonly referred to as "the source from up north"? Surely he is due back soon!
Where do you see Nambour finishing, in your honest opinion can you beat the buffs again at your home ground like you did earlier this year (14 points) ?
Point I'm getting at is I can smell a prelim final between the buffs and Nambour that would be majestic!!!!!

I think you will find most the posts are comign from Beenleigh and Nambour supporters/Players and that would be why the conversation goes that way. Why not tell us all how good UQ are? or want to leave that to Watto?
