Mate of mine posted on another board that the crows really need to sacrifice some players of higher order to gain quaility young players, something the crows definitely lack atm.

IMO I reckon he is nuts but thinking about it makes some sense I guess. Mcleod aint going ANYWHERE he aint worth the whole national draft.

Edwards would be an interesting one, great player poor guy doesnt get the accolades he deserves. Edwards for #1 maybe? what do others reckon? or Nathan Bassett to the bulldogs to join his brother for a first round pick from the doggies...not #1 but maybe their next one.

McLeod would be untouchable for your mob, but you guys do need to get some draft picks in for some of the older guys.

You guys are going through a similar patch to the Eagles did at the end of the last decade, and it's inevitable.

Your players mature, grow older and retire and you end up with a lot of youngsters who aren't quite ready. Good drafting and careful trading will quicken the process and ensure the Crows spend as little time outside of the 8 as possible.

I think you guys will just sneak into the 8 next year, but would be suprised if you did the year after......

Maybe, but it depends how desperate u guys are for talls.

BTW how is young Will Minson going on? I went to school with him, giant guy hates the ruck but loves CHF. Was a great player for us.

Minson is developing slowly in the VFL but he will be given time. He is huge, strong and can take a grab. Cliched but he is a project player.

We are desperate for talls but Bassett is not the answer. He is not that tall anyway. Pick 4 could give us Kepler Bradley if Carlton and Melbourne pick midfielders so the club should keep the pick.

If anyone gets traded this year it will be Bode, Perrie, Doughty and if we get a REALLY good offer Goodwin.

McLeod, Edwards and Bassett are not going anywhere;)

In the latest rumour Bode has been linked to Melbourne;)

Goodwin for Scarlett and Geelongs first pick?

I doubt theyd think twice about it but it would be good for them....

Still Id certainly prefer Goody to stay right here.

Scarlett is one of the few remaining bona fide full backs left in the AFL at the moment. He rarely lowers his colours. He has more value in the market than Goodwin.

I'd do your package deal definately.

Biglands and White in the ruck would be awesome, White can even play forward for us. Burton is class but youve got to give away class to get class back. I think your overpaying with pick #5 for goodwin but burton for white sort of evens it out with Whites injury problems.

Pick 5 for Goodwin is a great move for the future for us, though Goodwin is a potential all australian midfielder for you guys for another 5-6 years.

Bode for Green...yous get some grunt that you need and a quality in and under player whos still young and we get a young tall forward who can play on the wing and is versitile.

I'd happily do it for the sake of Green and pick # 5. Green is still only 22 yrs old and I reckon Demons fans underrate him.

I agree that Goody & Burton are going nowhere.

I would consider trading for White if the deal is reasonable & we could off-load Clarke.

What would you ask for...

Bassett?
Bode?
Burton?

From a scungy, crude St Kilda perspective I'm thinking:

Burton for 2nd Rounder + Moyle.

Bode for Houlihan.

Bassett for Blake + 3rd Rounder.

Doubt you'd take any of those, but throwing them up in the hope you'd be willing to offload.

Will negotiate.

Burton is near untouchable - ie. you would have to trade one of your young guns, which you would be unwilling to do.

We would only be trading Bassett if were trading for someone we really need. Blake aint it.

Bode is expendable, but not for a hack like Houlihan.

Adam's with Richmond I'll agree he's a dud. Josh is from St. Kilda haven't seen him play but will most probably be a dud.
