Another shameless plug....

A West Torrens special this time (seeing the Eagles are in the Prelim) - Ron Ashby, Bob Hank, Ian Hanna, Neil Hawke and Geoff Kingston.

Of course the Eagles represent the Woodville-West Torrens Football Club, so to redress the imbalance a wee bit there's the long overdue inclusion of the one and only Buff Tyrrell!

Other players added are North's Bill Lokan, Sturt's Tony Burgan and Port's Max James (complete with cracking photo).

The VFL players page now includes Wayne Primmer (continuing the Eagles theme) and Sturt's Ted Langridge.

Finally, there's a fabulous nostalgic photo on the home page which will make you think of Sunday lunchtimes as a younger person.

Cheers!

Speaking of Buff, I wonder what happened to his son Luke who played a handful of league games for North last year?

I thought he was still at the Roosters. Not there in 2003?

You gotta love that home page photo.
I can almost hear my grandma telling me to turn the TV off and come to the table for lunch.

Luke Tyrell - former Barmera-Monash product - up north with Dad. Played in a premiership team in 2001, I think.

I love your website McAlmanac, I'm only 22 so since I was 10 years old I've had the VFL/AFL shoved down my throat by the media. I get sick of all the euolgising of the VFL history when to me it means nothing. I really enjoy going through your website and looking at the Footy history that matters to me - that of the SANFL.

Keep up the great work! :)

Agreed.

I was very young (only being 16 now) when the Crows came into the AFL, and was naturally following the AFL because at my age then, I thought that the AFL was be-all and end-all of Football. I'd been to SANFL games when I was 2 and 3 (Torrens' last year :() and didn't really know what the SANFL or Football was. To cut a boring story short, sites like this give people my age a sense of state pride, and all the junk that goes with it.

Thumbs up.

Now there's an idea - a website of old Birmingham City players. :o ;)

All these kind comments mean I'll have to do a grand final special. :)

And for Mobben I'll have to find some more shockers that went to Fitzroy. Mmmmm - Brenton Klaebe, Andrew Brockhurst....
