Sounds like some spectacle.
Final score and better players anyone?
Don't know if it would be more interesting to give you the weather report rather than the match report. Anyway, here goes.
Arrived there in torrential rain, which lasted till the end of the first quarter. The wind was so strong and the rain so heavy it stung my eyes as it pelted against my face. To be fair I couldn't see much of the game in the first minutes, but then nobody actually scored in the first minutes due to the horrendous conditions.
Even though after quarter time it cleared, it was wet and slippery all day and the conditions meant that there wasn't a lot of uncontested marking and kicks, something the Hawks like to do. I guess it suited Casey better but that's not to say that we couldn't at least been more competitive. Unfortunately due to too many injuries and depleted numbers it appears now we are struggling with depth. I can only assume that after 3 years of prevalence in injuries, we really need to review and reconsider our whole fitness and medical staff at the club.
Very few players could hold their head up high today. While the score was close for three quarters, Casey dominated the stoppages and the entries inside 50. The Hawks only really playing well in patches and never really hurt on the scoreboard, as the ball even when it seldom entered the 50, kicks were usually shanked or there was no true target or lead up forward to spot. Most of the goals or clear scoring opportunities came from errors in the back half from The Scorpions.
Saw Grimely for the first time in a full game. Seemed for his first game at this level this season, to start pretty well and competed quite well in the ruck. Actually both rucks did very well, with Pattison continuing his good form as well. Pattison kicked a goal and was taking marks around the ground. Looks like he could be a good back-up ruckman. Grimely started to get tired towards the end and gave away a fair few free-kicks in the end. But I didn't agree with the umpire on a couple of them. None the less when we stopped breaking even the ruck Casey took over the game in the last quarter. I would still say it was good debut for Grimely, who almost took a spectacular mark at the end.
Thought Dureya is growing in confidence in his new half-back role. Didn't think he was the kind of the player who liked to do the defending-spoiling side of the game but seems like he can and does. Used it well today and was probably the best for us with disposal today in the wet.
I know he's been name emergency a couple times recently, but that's probably due to our squad thinning rather than his ability. Although I still might have Sirra ahead of Cheney right now. Generally competed well when he got to the contest and is disposal was okay today. Didn't really provide any run off half back and will need to improve his speed and fitness. Last month he has gone a bit missing.
Started off well in the first quarter but then dropped off massively after that. Odd because the conditions got better Morton got worse. Was very disappointing and made some silly errors today. Don't know where he is at the moment after having an good game last week.
Really liked Williams at the start of the season, now a little less to like. Never was a skillful or athletic player but usually competed well. Now he's not even really competing that well either. Don't know if he is suffering from season fatigue or something else.
This kid seems talented and athletic. Today he didn't really get to a lot of contests but for a guy his size he's quick and covers a lot of ground. I think Menegola has a huge upside from the few things he did today, even though he was below par.
I thought today Wanganeen would have relished the conditions with tackling and crumbing goals. Instead two things. Firstly the ball didn't go forward that often. Secondly he appeared lost today and not sure where to run. Kept making the wrong leads and was not hitting the packs correctly. Had a chance from a set shot 40m straight in front in the last quarter to bring margin back to 3 goals but missed it. Woeful day.
Ladson was probably BOG again today. Had a lot of the ball, contested and uncontested and was the best user on the ground by far. Might seem him play AFL again soon.
Mirra was quite good today, especially in the first half with some excellent contested marks and tackles. Used the ball well. In the second half had a couple of goals kicked on him. His last few weeks back from injury have been okay but nowhere near his B&F form before the injury.
Neil did okay in defence, competed well but made a few errors.
Pollard also was okay but nothing he did stood out.
Boumann was on Fevola for most of the day, came off with an injury in the last not sure how he pulled up. Too many times caught out trailing behind and made a few errors as well.
Gibson was as per usual one of Hawks best, especially in the second quarter were he had a purple patch. Used it well but didn't really hurt with his disposal today.
Andrews was not too bad today. Had a few clearances and did okay at the stoppages not much else though.
Northe was okay today, better in the first half than in the second. Tried really hard today, he's a lot like Xavier Ellis. Future prospect.
Probably the worst game I have seen Kiel play this season. Seemed to be getting heavily tagged and was getting very frustrated. We'll need to step it up with so many missing.
Forwards like Hoegel and Monkorst while they kicked goals had and did very little today.
The other guys like Jackson, Fagan and Van Unen were very disappointing today. Especially Jackson, expect a lot more from such a senior player now.
Thought Tobin did okay today in defence and Gilchrist was one of the better players on the ground. Gilchrist presented well at half-forward and generally made good decisions with his disposal.

Sounds like you probably deserved the BOG nod for sitting through all that!
Not a lot to get excited about but with a raft of HFC seniors returning imminently, there should at least be some quality filtering back down to BHH.
Did anyone catch the final score?
Thanks for the right-up Roby, I was hoping there would be one. I was planning to go today but the weather turned me away. So I appreciate your effort.

Any idea why Lowden didnt play?
Yes.
He copped a very nasty ***** *****, I won't go into to details as that would not be appropriate on a PUBLIC forum especially one infested with utter morons like our main board, however he sustatined this ***** with about five minutes to go before half time last week. He had a magic juice injection, Guava and Carrot per chance??? at half time and was bloody good in the second half.
Anyway, the net result of playing on with the ***** was always going to be the mother of all **** ***** in the following week. Hence he was not sighted at ****** at all last week.
I only hope that he has not sustained any ongoing damage to his **** from this act of medically sanctioned junkyism.
Casey Fields:
As for the game today, god it was awful.
I was looking forward to at least seeing a Four Pillars or so but not even such an astute osbserver as he was there to provide his redoutable insights. :(
In fact appeart from the indefatigable CS and of course Mr Cool charm personified, the David Niven of of our boards HH himself, there were naff all BH regulars present that I know anyway. Not even Big X!
Missed the DS fortunately as they were utter crap andwith them I missed eht main part of the storm with its sheeting rain . Copped the end of it coming in to Cranbourne at 1.50pm and it was sheeting down.
We were crap in the first kicking into the wind.
Not much better in the second kicking with the wind.
The wind died in the third for the Scorpions and we just kicked point after frigin' point. Some one kicked goal off the ground I thought it was Morton but not according to the Pulse.
The wind picked again in the last so we got to kick with the wind for 2 quaters compared to their one quarter, but even kiking with the wind we were outscored 5 goals three to one goal three!
In the last quarter their bigger bodies were really telling and a savge defeat was conveting into a rout (not a root!).
There were two intersesting things about the game:
i. I did not think BH had any genuinely good players all day. Ladson tried hard but rooted his right arm at the end of the fourth and was in a bit of bother/pain/distress. I feel sorry for him as he really tries hard for a littlie but his papers appear to be stamped.
ii. An amazing number of Senior players were present as a herd, watching the proceeding including: Hodge, Mitchell, Buddy     , Bruest, Suckers, Murphy, Sewelly, Stratto, Shoe-o, Lisle-o :D, Big Max, Birch, Gibo, Burgs, Ellisie, Shielsie, Milney, Chaneyie, Wx, and Smithy.

I had man cold Ordi - after watching the Hawks v Lions at the Tower Hotel - went straight to the g to watch scum v bitches and froze to (nearly) death - left at 3/4 time in a bad way.
Woke up this morn and could not face the Casey conditions (been there done that) so I squibed it.
Probally didn't miss much after reading the above reports.
Basically HFC down 7 or 8 players - BHH promoting the same number from Development team and then finding another 7-8 from local comp to play for the DT so the writing was on the wall and then to top that off Melbourne has a bye and plays a few of their players in Casey and drop the equalivent No to their twos - so that is the result.
We will bounce back next week
Go Hawks
go hawks!!!

Thanks for the Report Roby and others. It always rains when we play at Casey.
Box Hill next week will be interesting.
Like to see Ellis get a run to build fitness. If he shows form at BHH, he can keep his spot.
Clinton Young: he has had a rest with his hammy, like to see him play at BHH, build some confidence.
Riley Milne should also be back to BHH.
If Batemna is fit, he should play at BHH and prove himself in performance and confidence in his body before a senior recall.
Lets keep our fingers crossed that Renouf comes back soon, to build our ruck depth.

The ground was solid under foot as one would expect with the piddling amount of rain that we have had over the last few weeks ...
however, the ground is a friggin' disgrace with ponding water everywhere lying about 5mm thick.
So they had some short intense showers possibly up to 5mm and suddenly there are sheets of water everywhere.
Unbelievable!
Contrast this with MCG surface with can easily withstand several inches of rainfall overnight, or even solid heavy continuous rain during a game eg the Richmond match, and have no ponding whatsoever.
That heap of shite ground has farcial surface drainage due to the surface being some pile of crap silty clay with no real sand fraction. All of the surrounding areas were waterlogged and their crap culverts were full of water that was flowing nowhere. One has to ask oneself what blithering incompetent morons actually planned (if one could use that word for the activities of such sub-normals) let alone designed (ha ha ha!) these pile of excrement of a "sporting facility".
Pretty much what one would expect from a crap smug ignorant pile of **** council like casey. Fwit wankers.
