Well done on the Brownlow count James. If you had not been injured in those five games....
Matty poled well again as well!
It was a great effort! So much for C.Wilsons Fading Star.
Interesting to see how many votes the whole team got.
Wellman got 2 3's and so did JJ from memory.

He missed 6 and was injured in the first 5 mins in 2 others ?
Thought he was unlucky not to poll in his first game back from injury too!
Unbelievable. Legend.

Hirdy missed 6 games, 5 cos of that horrible calf injury, 1 because of a groin strain against Melbourne, plus two games where he was injured in the first 5 minutes, that's 8 games missed in total...
14 full games, 19 votes. Fair bloody effort
Best Footballer in the League, without a doubt.

He also out voted bucks in both games vs the pies and he and voss shared the 3 in the 2 vs Bris. Good yard stick. ;)
fantastic stuff Jim! 19 votes from playing 14 games. PLZ play at least 18 next season and you wont have any worries, win easy.

If heard played all of those 8 matches with the form that he was in I think its fair to say that he would have won the brownlow by more then 5 votes. He is a champion.
I agree. Best player in the league.
Essendon supporters......
Please get over yourselves....Ok J.Hird had a good year and polled well, and yes he got very close. But that's all he got.
Injuries happen to everyone, every year.
Even if he did play those games doesn't mean that he would have got votes. Too many "If's".
Best player in the game??? Even I, a collingwood man, can't go past M.Voss.

Our whole team got 65 votes altogether.
50.7% of them Hird and Lloyd got.
I still rate Voss and Hird as the best in the league by far. Bucks is close, but I still think if Hird and Voss had have gone the season un-scarred, those two would have pulled off a repeat of 96'. If Hirdy doesnt get injured next year, I think its going to take something special from the others to beat him. Jimmy, 30 years old, and still the best.

What a legend. He's the true winner in my heart. ;) Would have been a clean sweep if he'd played those 6.
