Thats great News.

Another important player has signed.

There was rumours that he wasn't going to be at Essendon Next year though.

I was one sadly BUT after 01 I have had nothing but respect for the guy. He works tirelessly and has, on more times than I can count, held us together.

What a relief!!

Lucas is a champ...this is wonderful news

imho only missed out on AA selection cos he's too versatile for CHB...maybe he should have been on the bench, and more noteworthy bench players on the ground. I bet the AA selectors are embarassed now.

I'm surprised the club wanted to re-sign him, after all he only got 1 Brownlow vote.

Can't believe those blind maggots only gave him one vote.

Good to have you for another 3 years Scotty, maybe next year you will get 2 votes. ;)

Maybe you should try being a bit more flashy, mouth off at the umpires, give away 50 metre penalties & be 4th highest in the clanger list, guaranteed you will get more Brownlow votes that way. :D

Just Because he has signed doesnt mean he will be at Essendon next year. By signing him up Essendon are ensuring that they wont lose him for nothing in the pre season draft.

Yes it does, new league rules state that a player cannot be traded within 12 months of signing a new contract.

I was never a fan, I always felt he was over-rated until this year. I think he has finally shown what he is capable of and a niche in our team - thus happy to have him sign on.

If thinking that makes you happy go for it, I am just not as blind as some.

I was just speaking the truth, if you think he deserved more votes than Lucas, fine.

Where did i say that ? You hated Salmon coming back and ridiculed him at every opportunity last year and was proven wrong, and now Cupido is doing the same thing, hilarious.

Why do you suppose Lucas gets bagged so much? Is it because he is prone to the occasional clanger?

I suppose there is a bit of a gap between his best and worst disposals, although the good ones far outnumber the bad ones of late.

The only thing I can think of is that he doesn't look particularly graceful on the ground. He almost looks a bit clumsy sometimes, which maybe gives the illusion that he isn't particularly skilled (total bollocks of course).

Hey, leave our South African alone...

Cupes polled in two games he deserved to poll, Anzac day and then against the pussies, and he kicked 5 goals in each of those two...

Lucas is a champ, he was the rock in our backline for a big chunk of the season. We appreciate his efforts, the maggots don't.

We appreciate the efforts of all our players, Brownlow votes or not.
