What's your mail/thoughts on who will be the new coaches next year?
North:
MacGowan, Weidemann and Mead have been recently mentioned with North (Players fav is MacGowan), there were 16 applicants but I think the board sub committee is chasing others. A Jarman has pulled out of the Race. To be publicly announced to all firstly and exclusivley online at www.nafc.com.au on Oct 3 at this stage.
Port:
Martin Leslie is the hot fav Ive been told from a Port player today, Id assume Knights be a chance but there's a good chance he'll be at Geelong next year as assistant coach.
South:
Bickley?
Any mail from down south?

Would any club(North perhaps) go after Brodie Atkinson?

Choco's given Meady advice ahead of his interview.

I guess that rules him out.

I heard (from an unreliable source) that Jonny Symonds has quit as the Bays reserves coach. If this is true, could it be because he has his eye on one of the senior jobs? Perhaps at a club he once played for?

Port Adelaide name a non-former Port player as coach? Not likely.

Former West Adelaide and current Port Power assistant coach Geoff Morris may be a good man to interview. Especially if they are looking to make huge changes at the Power.

Might be able to work off his debts you reckon Paul ?

About as much chance as that happening as Anne Fullwood coaching sturt with Merv Keane and Rick Davies as her assistants.

You shouldn't stereotype.

Try the spell checker option, cause you need it badly.

Is Ronny Fuller under contract? How safe is he? I reckon he would be on thin ice at the moment.

Cant agree

A GF appearance in his first season and 2 finals series that the "experts" said we wouldnt make, including most people on this board. , I reckon next year though is crucial that we go all the way. Looking at todays game we definetly need a ruckman to support Lindsay and a "big body" in the forward line. Dont think Passador, Inkster and Phillipou have that "intimidating" enough look about them. Something that I think continues to hurt our chances come finals time.

We need someone like Bradshaw.

Three finals series in a row where you have done nothing. You had a week off to prepare for today and you still were'nt up to it.

Your minor round performances this year have also been of some concern - you havent been able to put 4 quarters together.

Classic example is your last home game against us. You had us on toast and could'nt kick a goal in the last half.

Fuller is not getting the message through. Youre right though, if he gets the gig next year he has to deliver.

Ronny Fuller is as safe as houses! Excellent performance.

Well done Eagles...a satisfying, but not brilliant year.

A few players came on this year, and I see alot to smile about going forward - Inkster, Vinnie, Passa, Bocky and many others stood up this year.

Ron Fuller has to be commended for his efforts, especially to do this well with a list that lost Colville, Crowell, McLure and even the tough, hard Rob Shirley in the first quarter today...not much went our way all year, but the boys toughed out a sound year.

We'll be better next year, no doubt.

My tips for next year - we are not fit enough, and we need to size up a bit (gym work). Westies were just that bit stronger and fitter. We should have run the game out better than them, but it was the other way around (we had a week off).

Another thing - the last quarter today needed us to switch the game plan a little, knock the ball forward any way you can and create forward opportunities. Kick the bloody ball rather than give the one-too-many handball.

Recruiting - with Crowell and Colville back, Passa in his second year and Shirl's around a little, we need to find another tall forward target, a midfielder of the Weed's ilk, and we'll move forward.

Congratulations to the WWTFC on a good year.

Good luck to West, I hope you flog the mutts, but fear it will be the other way around.

What a disgraceful comment. And what is most incredible is that it was made by a Sturt supporter! You guys were 1 week away from being evicted from the SANFL after not paying your bills and 8 wooden spoons. And now, only a few short years later, you're happy to see the end of North?

Sturt 2002 can only remember the good times though - the only game he's probably ever been to was last year's grand final!

RoosterWedgie

Isn't it ironic that so many North fans attended the rally at Unley Oval in the mid 90s (myself included) to help save Sturt and you get to hear this sort of dribble a few years later? Best just to ignore.

The comments made by Sturt2002 are not the thoughts and feelings of all Sturt supporters.

Thank you.:)

Kinda funny considering Sturt wanted to merge with North a few years back.

Back on topic...

channel 9 news has stated that the North Adelaide board is meeting tonight to discuss the new coach and Andrew Jarman is the hot favourite.

Channel 9 has also stated that Roy Laird's contract has been extended and he will be Centrals senior coach for a few years yet. Go Roy!

I'll be happy with anyone as long as it isn't an ex Port Adelaide player,Geoff Motley ruined North when he (coached????) them, and can anyone tell me of an instance where an ex Port player has ever been successful in coaching another SANFL team other than Port? Mark Williams was crap when coaching Glenelg,John Cahill did nothing with Westies, and Anderson did Zilch with South last season.:( :( :(

Two Preliminary Finals in three years is ruining a club? Maybe you know more than me on that one.

Fos Williams took on Westies when they were a basket case and got them into a Preliminary Final.

Harold McCarthy - he coached Port for a season in the late 40's, then took North from second bottom to top in 1960.

You left out Russell Ebert at Woodville as a dud coach. Had some talent at his disposal too. ;)
