I've just finished reading this book by 'Anonymous', after being asked to read it by my wife.
Synopsis: A woman has disappeared, but left behind a diary detailing the twin lives she led, one as a bored, but devoted housewife, the other as a sexually promiscuous 'teacher' who leaves behind any inhibitions in her quest to discover the woman lurking within.
A bigger load of crap I've never had the misfortune to read. Interesting in a smutty way (it is, after all, an erotic novel), it is so full of contradictions and double standards that I wonder what the reception would have been if it had been titled 'The Groom Stripped Buck-Naked'.
The dedication is a mystery to me. "For my husband. For every husband." I intend to write to the author and clear this up, but I imagine it is a message to all husbands declaring that this book will ask you to view your spouse in a quite different way than you are accustomed to.
It must be noted that the author N.J. Gemmell decided that after her anonymous cover was 'blown' (by whom, the publicist?), she was so shy that she decided to do the rounds of the local talk-shows inlcuding Denton.
I'm just a bitter male, apparently.
