Was wondering who everyone was supporting in the upcoming Big Bash League?
Ive jumped onboard the Melbourne Renegades (http://www.melbournerenegades.com.au/) after finding out the Stars are driven by Eddie McGuire
Also they have the mighty colours - Red, White & Black and are based at Etihad. What more could we want!!

I was going to go for the Stars since I am one and all, but after that little tidbit, yeah, stuff em, go the Renegades. :D

:D:D Just found out JB is actually with the Renegades not the Stars, but Eddie is behind the Stars...

I'm sticking with the Stars. Can't support a team with pea-heart Shaun Tait and cricket ball eating Pakistanis. It's a shame because I'm a big fan of Finch and Hodge.
Regardless this new concept is rubbish and is the death knell of state cricket rivalry.

Goddamn man, you are making this decision even harder since I think JB is a bigger tool but I've actually met Eddie to know that he is a dire one. (ah the joys of free taxis, meeting the clientele...)
Otherwise my interest is probably summed up by L2M4G, I quite liked the state v state and dislike this current concept entirely.

Yea i agree, dont like this new setup. Ill probably end up going for both the Melbourne teams.... I think it would have been better if they stuck to 1 team per state (maybe include a NT & ACT team) and then recruit the players as they have done.. That way its basically state on state and each team will have bigger supporter base...

Has Shane Warne signing for the Eddie Maguire led Melbourne Stars changed anyones mind? No way in hell will i support team led by him, even with Warney.
Have not even been paying much attention to it, sucks to not have satellite TV since that seems to be where most cricket is these days.

I was always going to be a Stars man and this has confirmed it. Lord Warne is the way.

Still haven't decided yet. I'm not 100% sold on Twenty20. Much prefer ODIs TBH. Will probably end up with the renegades TBH just coz I hate Eddie.

I've been with the Renegades since day one and despite this very disappointing development I'm going to stick with them.

Undecided at present. Not keen on the 20/20 bash concept, still prefer the
50 over OD format, and even Shield cricket.
Not sure how the BigBash will go....
So finally got the Hun today (yeah I know, blame the olds) and saw Warnie on the back int he stars outfit.
What part of stars screams lime green? Was Eddie high on weed whilst watching red dwarf or something and had a lightbulb moment of "holy hell, we can make a cricket team after this and use celestial bodies! What's that armrest, yes I know I am the smartest sofa around!" and waking up with a backache.
Also, love Shield cricket, need more of it even on soundless streams from the G where they have 2 buttons, one for score overlay and one for "eh screw it, lunch break" where you get to see a pitch and pigeons.
Because I named everyone Harry and they failed as wizards.(which reminds of of SBS and the fishes, myself and a mate created a drunken sitcom I cannot quite recall, all I do recall is that Ahmed's plot was foiled by a rather angry goldfish.) end transmission.
Will be supporting the Renegades. Based this decision on two things, one is the colours of R, W & B :thumbsu: and two because Eddie is in charge of the stars :thumbsd:
Didn't think Warne was so hard up for a quid, he had to dust off his pads and go around again. Although I do understand it is all just a marketing exercise to get people interested in the comp and get bums on seats.
Are the general public that dumb that a hasbeen, baked bean eating, model dating womaniser would be more interesting to watch than up and coming talented kids?
