I was a bit disappointed to hear Simon Cox announced his retirement. From 2nd in last years B&F to retirement at 26 a year later.

You have insulted my honour, i demand satisfaction. I challenge you to a duel

Yeah I know, it was a bit sad. He only played 93 games in the end. He had one of the greatest footy brains, and one of the best kicks in the game. It seemed as though he lost his desire once he was dropped.

Good Luck with whatever you are doing now Simon.

I reckon it simply came down to the fact that he was one of those blokes who just didn't have the burning ambition to suceed.

Yea, maybe he fired up last year to prove to a few people that he could cut it at the highest level but that might have (going on this season, it was) been his last hurrah.

Thought it a big mistake at the time, was proven wrong last season, proven right a year later.

All up, was not worth it, not when Baird's still going strong for the Roo's.

We have to smarten up on recruiting recycled players, our track record is appaling over the last five years.

You said it. Haven't we scored some lemons in this area?

We have, and Hunter is the lemon's lemon.

Hmmm, i would say we have had bigger lemons in the terms of having to give up more for :

Justin Crawford (a first rd pick (17))
Brett O'Farrell (a first rd pick (4) and 3rd (36))
Shaun Rehn (a first rd pick (12), which i wasn't happy about), although others may disagree

While not a lemon (at least yet) i wasn't to impress at the high cost of Peter Everitt of a 1st and 2nd rd pick.

With Hunter we didn't have to give up a whole lot to get him, expect a 3rd pick in what many have said was a really weak draft.

S.Cox was in an out of the side due to poor form and lack of confidence.

He made the decision himself.

Good luck Hairy.
