Cooney as only had two touches since I have been watching it. He goes hard into the packs, but doesn’t really get a lot of the ball.
I was impressed with what I saw from Shannon Rusca – he was a major ball winner.
That Koulouriotis (from Port Adelaide) is going to be one hell of a player.
Oh, and Sam Phillipou plays for the Eagles, too. He kicked a goal.

must say i didn't think cooney did much out there ... s rusca was awesome ...
i'm a c districts fan ... played with the gowans brothers and well, they are b'dogs ... but i was most impressed by the way the westies went about it!
... should be a great g final ... hoping cooney and the gowans boys do well!

He was on and off for most of the day.Got moved to chb in the third quarter and did very well there I thought.He attacked the ball pretty ferociously for a 17 year old playing against grown men.He didnt get alot of it but he showed glimpses of his ability.He has the sort of pace that makes you think "**** this kids quick".Got to remember people this is a kid playing against men most of whom have had afl style preparations for the season.I took as much out of watching him today as I did out of watching him dominate the national champs purely because he didnt back down against some bloody big boys.

I think you should change the thread title local.
Because "Cooney is on fox" is too close to "Cooney is a fox" for those teenies looking for a Brown replacement.

Interesting to read in an article (primarily about Nick Stevens) that Carlton is looking at Cooney.
(Shane) O’Sullivan said that the Blues, who have second pick in the National Draft, were keeping an eye on South Australian teenager Adam Cooney, who’s fancied to be picked up by the Western Bulldogs with their first selection.
