On tonight at 8.30pm on Channel Griggs (Seven).

Will be interested to read what people thought about the show.

Thorpey won, but apart from that it was boring.

Flicked to it about 9:30 and the race hadn't even started.
When the race did start I found myself bored and wishing it would end.

Did anyone actually think Thorpe would lose?

Thorpe couldn't possible have swam any slower and he stopped 2 times in the race! Yet still one by over 10 seconds. Beat 3rd place by 27 seconds.

It was 3 teams:

Celebrities
Young Champions
Thorpe

The 2 teams against Thorpe all had 40 people which all did 50 M each while Thorpe did the whole 1000 m!

75 minutes of the 90 minutes was all about interviewing people who wanted their 15 minutes of fame.

Pathetic..........

I flicked over at about 9.30pm and saw Thorpey being interviewed.Surely he has to be in Australia's version of Queer Eye For The Straight Guy .

Not that there's anything wrong with that

only watched the race, not the telecast. Roy & HG were funny as always, and good to see they will be telecasting from Athens. But they were right when they said the big losers of the night were the handicappers:D

I wish more straight men were like Thorpie. I personally think he is a wonderful young man and desreves all the good things that come his way.

And boy, can he swim!

Gee that was boring as hell. I was channel flicking and as Bombers said, the race only started in the last 15 minutes of the show - and that was so boring I turned it off midway.

Andrew Daddo would have to be the worst host.

I shudder to think of what Channel 7 will come up with next - a Paramount Race against Jane Saville?

Thorpy's race wasnt the only one that was on. They had 2 others as well, 4 representitives from the AFL, NRL and also the sydney swifts netball team were in one race and the Aussie Fin Team broke some sort of world record in the other. The whole thing was a bore still, even if the others got more of a head start then they did, I reckon Thorpy still would have won easily.

I reckon if Thorpie didn't have any arms or legs, he still would have easily won the race.

It would've been a different result if I'd been racing.;)

I watched a bit of it, then it was just on in the background. Was pretty boring television IMO. Maybe it was interesting to swimming/Thorpe fans........
