Much better. Faith now restored - bring on the hawks
Well done sainters. Good to see they could do it for Stewie's 300th. I wish your mob all the best for the rest of the season .... starting right after my Hawks belt them this week ;)
Hopefully we are on the right track now.
Injuries are mounting. The Hawks will be tough but I think we can win this one as well.

I think there were some great signs on Saturday.
Apart from Stewie Loewe and Nathan Burke, I found the performance of Fraser Gehrig extremely encouraging. The experiment to play Barry Hall in the backline was worthwhile. Blighty now knows that Hall is a forward, however he can still be moved back if the situation arises. Hudghton has been sensational over the past few weeks and along with Gehrig and a few youngsters coming through like Blake, Koschitzke and even Schwarze who is playing well for Springvale, we do have a few tall options down back.
Our injury list is a bit of a concern. 12 of our 38 listed players are injured at the moment which doesn't give the selection committee much to choose from. It's a shame about Aussie Jones tearing his hamstring because he looks to have found his niche in the backline.
I won't go through the entire side but I was also encouraged with the games of Hamill, Milne, Moyle, Baker and Koschitzke. Powell's attack on the ball from the back pocket was crucial when the game was in the balance.
This weekends game against Hawthorn should be a beauty and we are a big show.

Hopefully Schwartze will get a spot in the team this weekend.

we probably would not have used him that much. blight probably new in march he would not be any good for the side but had to give him a chance!!
yes injuries are mounting. any more this week and they will be a concern.
how much more difficult will it be for the saints to win without aussie? Or is it that he still only getting better, and another will be abole to take his place easily?
hiope it won't be peckett.

if you dont like Young or Peckett then the only players left uninjured are
Ryan,Wulf,Elliott,Walton,Gale,Schwartze and Capuano.
I think Schwartze will come in to replace Jones.

Shadows,
It's amazing to think we have been decimated by injuries to that extent.
You really have to wonder about the logic of the AFL who have been consistency reducing team lists over the past 5 - 10 seasons.
Having said that, we do have two current vacancies on our list at the present time.
Of the fit players you have mentioned, I would also like to see Troy Schwarze get a game. I've been very impressed with the way he has played since recovering from stress fractures in his feet. It's good to see young key position defenders like Blake and Schwarze develop so well.
