To be honest, I haven't seen Whitten's name floating around in the Jets' best players. We won't pick him up - not even towards the end of the draft.

Dean has not had a standout year with the jets, played okay though.

He maybe a very slim chance to be rookie drafted or spend some time a werribee first.

The had Teddy Junior on Grumpy Old Men on Fox a while back and he said Dean has had an injury plagued year, no pre season and hampered during the year.
Maybe a rookie list position at best

I hope the doggies pick him up in the rookie draft, give him a chance to prove himself, and bring another whitten back to whitten oval!!!

I'd rather they picked up someone who was a chance of playing and impressed this year, rather than just picking someone up because of their name.

I agree he is worth Rookie Listing, if only for the experience.

Watched the Jets a few times this year - based on what I've seen no way he should be picked up.

If his name was Dean Smith I wouldn't have even known he had played. There would be about 250-300 players who showed more promise than him this year.

Harsh on the kid, but trust me, there are better options out there.

So let's make sure he plays for Werribee next year so the club can keep an eye on him.

I'm presuming that we can still use father/son on him at the end of 2004 if he's not drafted this year?

Anyone know?
