Well, after what I've heard from a few clubs in the league, the answer is Yes.
As I reported earlier, Shepparton East want to move to the Kyabram District F.L, making the KDFL a 12 team competition, I know of a few clubs who are really keen to have them on board, (Ardmona, Tallygaroopna), there are others who look likely to vote them in (Merrigum, Murchison, Rushworth, Undera, Nagambie), and there are others who will reject thier application (Stanhope & Lancaster, only because they want to protect thier duopoly on premiership success), and Girgarre & Avenel are undecided.
The KDFL's A.G.M is on mid november, when Shepparton East's application will be heard, although they have to get the support of 8 clubs, this could go down to the wire, and there is talk if thier appeal is rejected, Shepp East will appeal to the VCFL, and possibly the courts if need be (thier denying it, but they're keen to get out).
Say if Shepp East do get in, this will really get the cat amoungst the pidgeons, Dookie United have been courted by the Benalla District League (thier Under 17's & 14's will probably end up in the Shepparton Junior comp.), to be thier 7th club (both Dookie & Dookie Ag. College, played for many years in the BDFL), which would make sense because most years, Dookie United have only had the two teams and this is the first time in many years that Dookie have been able to field all three teams.
Benalla All Blacks, wish to move to the Ovens & King League, but that all depends if Rutherglen & another team (do you know Kev?), application into the Tallangatta League is successful, but I wouldn't be suprised if the move back to the Benalla District League, due to thier poor performance this year, but they're just about stuffed as a club, and look likely to fold, which would be a damn shame.
Rumbalara looks set to move into the GVFL, despite the wishes of nearly everybody within the league, and our VCFL representives, the State Government gave the club a grant of $500,000 last month, and since they hardly pay for anything (you the taxpayer, pays for the running of this club, plus the ratepayers of the City of Greater Shepparton), and look set to buy a whole heap of Aboriginal plyers from all over the state (including around 6 from Lalor).
All of the other clubs (Violet Town, Alexandra, Yea & Thornton/Eildon) wish to stay in the Central Goulburn League, the Heathcote League (especially Lockington Bamawm) would like to see the back of Broadford, there's talk of Kilmore shifting leagues (Bendigo or even the CGFL), and most of the clubs in the KDFL would like to see Avenel move (since that we got rid of Yea).
There's a rumour that Broadford's as good as signed into the CGFL, Kilmore's looking at a move & Avenel despite them wanting to stay in the KDFL, may be forced to move to the CGFL.
As I said, Shepparton East's move will change a lot of the footballing structure within the region, and it will have to take a lot of coolheads to find a solution, because at this stage Shepp East looks like being a KDFL member, and let the cards fall where they may.
