Went out to Blacktown a few times to watch the 2011 IC and found it a great facility and obviously the AFL are pushing the use of this stadium .
Taking the train to Doonside as it appeared the closer of Rooty Hill there is no natural walkway to the oval .It's only about 1.5km but it would help if the way was marked and there was a clear footway all the way .

Yeah, public transport to the oval is a bit of a joke. I think that's part of the reason the AFL was pushing for the Showgrounds rather than staying in Blacktown.

i fact the train goes past the oval but has no station which is a pain in the ass. Last year the train tooted and the players thought it was the siren. Also good luck when catching a taxi if you get a driver that knows where the oval is as well.

A station stop would not be cheap but they could extend the pathway along the railway until it clears the housing and can link up with underpass and footpaths .

2010 NAB Cup Sydney v Carlton, Hayden Kennedy signalled for the finish of the first quarter when the train whistle blew. Frantic officials raced onto the ground to tell him there were still a few minutes left. Very funny...

I was at that game and everyone in the crowd was very confused as no one knew what was going on.
