View Full Version : Shane Harvey for David Teague and 3rd Round
Heard this on the Kangaroos board, the apparant source is Shane/Brent's father. If it is true you guys win out here, and it does make sense as you will lose Solomon, and will need a backan like Teague.
Teaguey has been unlucky not to make the Roos 22 with Archer and Makepeace restricting him, though I would only just be pleased with a straight swap, but a draft pick aswell, hope its a lean draft.
How do you guys feel about this? Would imagine unless your a shane fan you would be bloody pleased!

Like what i've seen of Teague, although it's a worry he couldn't make your team this year - so he must have deficiencies that Laidley and co know about.
Harvey i think has super potential, so i'd hate to lose him.
harveys got no ticker, hes moorcroft all over ;) gary had more ticker tho..lil goal sneak to whipe lloyds ass for crumbs...

I think in terms of potential Harvey has it all over Teague, who will never become anything other than an average player at best. We already have a fringe midsize defender in Forster-Knight. Would rather hold on to Harvey and see what happens.

Whilst Shane Harvey hasnt been close to Essendon's best 22 this year, there's no point giving him up for a player that is obviously not in the Kangaroos' plans and a 3rd round pick in a draft that supposedly stops after pick 30. I reckon that Harvey would be great at North, with Brent there and the right environment. Essendon would come out losers in this trade.

this sums it up pretty well. However if Shane wants to play with his brother there is little that we can do about it and may have to take what we can get. Teague is very slow but has some qualities, Harvey has great potential but Sheeds is losing patience. Harvey for Teague is unacceptable but with a pick involved we may be forced to cut our losses and move on.
Harvey has dropped in the pecking order behind Licha and Reynolds, so he won't become a regular senior player with us anytime soon.
I'd rather trade Harvey to the Roos for pick #24. They can keep Teague, he won't get a game with us.

yep id be happy with this i guess, even though i like Harvs, i would like to see him reach his potential and i dont think he can do it at essendon
If the Roos aren't prepared to give us pick #24 for Harvey, then we should just take #40. It's not worth taking Teague. We should only take Teague if we can trade him for something else.

i think we are selling harvey short he did get a game or 2 in the Firsts pick 24 or 40 will earn us nothing Teage is outclassed by Foster-Knight and he doesnt get a gaem if we dont loose solomon then our back line is fine with Hunt coming through so Teage is useless and Harvey is Silky and Fast which is what we are looking for admitadly Haynes must have first shot in the Role because of his good finish to year but i hate to let Tallent go....
