Could he possibly make the switch to GWS at the end of the year? I have a feeling he could go on for a season or two if you pay him enough. Thoughts?

This is no chance of happening, Mooney is pretty much both physically and mentally done. But obvious as far as the 10 players we will pick up as former AFL listed player we will have Power, C Cornes, and Brogan.
But we could also look at picking up Leigh Brown, Byron Schammer and possibly Brady Rawlings. There is also whispers about Tadhg Kennelly but this is only because he had a number of meetings with Mark Williams earlier in the year but my understanding is this was more about how best to help Folau adapt to AFL.

Also its worth keeping an eye on Leon Davis who has said he might call it a day at the end of year, who knows he could be another player we pick up this way.

mooney = NO WAY.

he almost retired a few weeks ago immediatly his body is shot and it'll take everything for him to play out the last few games this year (if he does).

But its highly likely that we could pick up Brady Rawlings. .

:D absolutely zero chance of brady going anywhere,he is going be a development and recruiting manager for us :thumbsu:

Looks like a bit of trolling going on. Otherwise GWS will have the oldest list since Noah sailed around. Then in 2013 they would have to do it all again. GWS need about 6 28-30s at most but only those still at 90% of their peak. Those listed above are about 50%. I am hoping Power is here to coach and leon, Rawlings and others stay south of the border

So leigh brown who is in career best form shouldnt be considered, and leon davis who was named in the all australian squad is only going at 50% - oh really. Also the majority of GWS list is made up of kids so the average age of the team is not going alter much in having 6-7 players in the 27-30 age range.

That's a fair list of players who really aren't up to AFL standard anymore.

Surely SOS and co have got a big one lined up.

They are made to look good by the team they are in allowing Davis for example not to be accountable. We need mature KPPs not getting old pockets and flankers. The young blokes can all run and rebound. We need hard bodies who can outperform their opponents week in and week out despite being beaten on the scoreboard.

GWS will pick up big name players, but it will use its ability to pick up 10 formerly listed afl player to bring in experienced players and a number of these will only be at GWS for 2 years at the most, which is all GWS needs them to do.

'We' - so when are you going to add GWS as one of your teams, or better still give the swans the flick completely ;)

But really you do realise that davis has shown to be one of the pies better players not only in there good years, but there poor years as well. Also his added strength is that he can play - mid, foward or defence, so he is not only a rebounding defender. Which is evident given that when he played mainly in the midfield in 2009 he was named in the all australian team.

Leigh Brown last year was in career best form.... This year not so much.. is just going at the moment..
As for Davis no hope in hell.. If he leaves the pies it will be to go home to WA... no where else

LOL, mooney's gonna retire at the end of the season. You just want GWS to steal a geelong player. What if another team took one of your good players eg. Swan, Thomas, Reid etc?

I seriously wouldnt begrudge Mooney if he left for GWS and id wish him the best, but even by his own account his body just isnt up to it anymore and you wouldnt be getting much for the dollars.

Good luck for next year, its gonna be interesting/ tough, but you've got to start somewhere.

I doubt he would go. His body is barley lasting atm. Besides up front is packed with players as is
