Don't know who the umps will be.

The match will indeed be on Fox Footy, but not live. 8.00pm EST.

The umpires for the Grand Final are Richard Fox, Tim Pfeiffer and Tony Dey.

Congrats to the 3 umpires, especially ex-VAFA umpire Tim Pfeiffer.

I watched the game, didn't care who won. Well done Centrals, clearly the best team on the day, and also the year.
The umpiring was pathetic, they missed far too much, and when they did pay a free, it was usually a soft one. They let go clear pushes, throws, holding the ball tackles ..... can't they see, or are they instructed to umpire like that?
I rated the umpires 3 out of 10 ... one for each umpire.
The game has rules .... why don't umpires enforce them?

The other blind magot was Tony Dey

It was amazing some of the stuff they missed for both sides.
That Gowans throw deep in the pocket in the second quarter was amazing. couldn't believe they let that go - even if it did benefit us!

I don't think they had any bearing on the result, Central were the better side on the day, but the umpiring was a disgrace. If the footy authorites really think the current standard of umpiring is acceptable then we are in big trouble. Umpiring has never been worse because instead of just watching the game and penalising every infringement, they feel it necessary to analyse everything and try to work out the players' intentions, etc. Bugger that, if a guy is tackled high, free kick. Push in the back ... free kick. A throw ... free kick. It's as simple as that.
Umpiring needs rubbing out and starting again. The AFL magots are just as bad.

Yeah, I totally agree.
Someone said to me after the game said that the umpires were on ourt side. I replied that I thought they were fairly even.
A look at the frees bore out that response as both sides received 16 frees.
My comment wasn't above wasnt concerning the whole game - just that particular incident.

I know they let a lot go but as long as they are consistant then it keeps the game flowing. I believe we had more frees paid in damaging spots. One confusing on was when a centrals player was hit after disposal and although a mark was taken and goal scored the ump pulled it back and made the player re take his kick. Consequently he missed. Very strange.
