View Full Version : poorly handled

Looking at what has gone on over the past few days at Glenferrie I can't help but think that the whole player contracts have been poorly dealt with. I can not beleive that the reason Rawlings did not stay was due to one more year he wanted on his contract. Why wouldn't the club just give in and give him another year?

The way it was leaked to the media (the pay cuts) didn't help matters either. I am also #@$%^& off that it looked from the outside the club did not care if they would lose Rawlings.

I can't beleive Schwabby spent the last week trying to get a Collingwood player off at the tribunal and as a guest on TV talking about the same matter. Do you think Mick Malthouse would do the same for a Hawthorn player? No I didn't think so.

Don't get me wrong I would probably prefer a Brown, Wirrpunda or Solomon to Rawlings, but the way they used the pay cuts as incentive for the other players, I can understand why they are disgruntled.

To top matters off Angelo Lekkas has now come out criticising the club. I think they have taken him for granted by the way they have treated him, but they definately cannot afford to lose a player of his quality.

But they way things are travelling I wouldn't be surprised.
