Optus Oval would be burnt to the ground if that happened.

A forwarded e-mail this afternoon from somebody who reckons he works at Bummerland

Would add a bit of experience and depth to the Blues however so maybe not as insane as it first sounds, but Bolton is a dud and Misiti on his last legs and McGrath, well I know nothing of McGrath apart from they multiply like rabbits as there are 78 McGraths running around in the AFL :p

Carlton should be sent back to the VFL if they were stupid enough to do this.
Are they trying to spend years down the bottom?

Absolutely zero chance of this happening (sounds like a bomber prayer to me!). Carlton will take Sylvia at 2 and create their own champion (Tenace has slipped a little after today at the draft camp).

I can't remember his name, but I think it was the CEO of Carlton talking to KG and Cornesy on 5AA last night about Nick Stevens and their efforts to get him to Carlton.

When the #2 draft pick was mentioned, he said that Carlton would not be trading the #2 draft pick under any circumstances.

While I think that's probably a correct strategy for Carlton, it did leave me wondering how the hell they were going to effect a trade for Stevens or any other players of note.

That's a good one, probably wins made up rumour of the year award.

IF by some miracle that happened, I would buy a Carlton membership to say thank you.

as ugly as ut sounds, carlton should keep drafting youngsters, stay at the bottom while they develop, then come out with a great future. a quick fix will lift them a few spots and leave them in no man's land.

Actually after 2003 National draft our penalties will have been served so we will have full draft picks in the 2003 preseason

They are hoping to get a player willing to go via the pre-season draft - at a price above what the Bulldogs would presumably be willing to pay. Unlikely to work, but worth a try. Preferable to giving up pick 2 or one of the few other high-value playing assets at Carlton. The big contract offers could also shake loose a few decent players as clubs scramble to sign the big names.

Like St Kilda have done in other words?

Probably Carlton's only hope really.

And geez i've had to sift through some rubbish on this board, but fair dinkum, the rumour in this thread is up there with the greats in terms of being utter crap.

At least a source was kinda quoted i guess.
