ESSENDON has been charged by the AFL with breaching the Total Player Payments (TPP) over internet deals with star players James Hird and Matthew Lloyd.
The club has been summoned to an AFL Commission hearing on Monday week.
AFL chief executive Andrew Demtriou said the charge related to a TPP breach in 2002.
Essendon won't be contesting the nature of the charge.
But the club said in a statement it had legal advice that it had acted fairly and reasonably in the matter and would vigorously defend its position."
Keep tuned interesting development on the go.
Cheers
