Kevin Higgins (born 20 February 1951) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Geelong and Fitzroy in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1970s. Higgins started his career as a centre half forward but the Sandhurst recruit spent most of his time at Geelong in defense. A left footer, Higgins was a regular in the team from 1973 and made his finals debut in 1976. Geelong's best placed player at the 1978 Brownlow Medal count, he transferred to Fitzroy in 1979 and appeared in all 24 games that year, two of them finals.

Left footed backman who was good overhead. Could fill a variety of positions from centre half forward, full back and wing. Finished his career with Fitzroy in 1979-80.

Used to wear KH's #14 for my primary school team. We wore Fitzroy jumpers, too. :thumbsu:

Kevin Higgins whom finished at Geelong in the 78 elimination final against Carlton,then crossed to Fitzroy in 1979 then played his second last game that year against Collingwood in the first semi final played one more final game for Fitzroy in 1980 against Melbourne,he was also my former Mercia primary school principal back in grade 5 & 6 1978-79
