Was on the back of yesterdays west aussie as being out of contract, and that freo want to offer him an incentive based contract, which could be significatly less than his old $240,000 contract. Also said that the Pies, Essendon, Kangaroos and the Eagles have spoken to him/Freo about him.

I'd rather he stayed. His trade value this season has dropped significantly from last season, where he took one of the marks of the year and showed the ability to play as an opportunistic half forward flanker or an attacking wingman/half back flanker.

He is one of the quickest at the club, is a raking, accurate kick and his chasing and second efforts can't be questioned. After having an injury interrupted season, I wouldn't expect much more than a second round pick for him. Anything less shouldn't be considered.

There seems to be a misconception that Koops was dropped during the season and struggled to get a game in our best 22, which is not true. He sustained a season threatening shoulder injury in the ATSIC All Stars game at the start of the season which severely interrupted his pre-season. If you are judging him, judge him on his injury-free 2002 season, not 2003.

Connolly also publicly stated that he was the most influential player on the ground against Brisbane, but he struggled against Adelaide two weeks later so was sent to back to play for the Cardies, where he was unlucky to miss out on the Simpson Medal in the grand final.

You know as well as I do that Sheedy would love to have Koops and would do anything to get his hands on anyone with the slightest amount of pace. If he wants to leave, we wouldn't have much choice considering he is out of contract, but a second round pick would be adequate compensation.

It's the Simpson Medal in the Grand Final - not the Sandover.

I can't see much value in Koops - too injury prone (78 games in 8 years) and is 25 -I certainly hope the Eagles don't waste a pick on him.

I'd love to have him at Carlton. But then my team is ****, so I'd love to have just about anyone...

no doubting he has talent, but he's had his chances at freo and hasn't taken them (granted he has had injury probs). would take a 2nd rnd pick for him, particularly if koops wants more out of his contract.

Heath Black wants to come back to Perth. Maybe a straight between Koops and Black may advantage both players.

Yeah keep him, don't want him at Arden Street. How many of those types can you have on one list? Daniel Motlop is the exact same time o play but much more promising in my opinion.
