If that's the case, give us pick #25 in return.

Im sure Jacobs is worth more than pick #25 especially in this draft.
How about throwing in S.Harvey since they are so desperate to bring together brothers and give us their first pick.
Then Essendon can make a decent play for Stevens with that pick.

I'll give you pick 22.

First round pick and a player minimum.

Can't see any club willing to part with a first round pick for Jacobs, much less a first round pick and a player. Draft picks are much more valuable these days, you can't get away with trading second tier players for first round picks anymore. A second round pick is the best we should hope for if Jacobs is traded for a pick.

A more feasible deal could be our first round pick and Harvey/Jacobs to the Roos for their first round pick. But the Roos may have to use their first round pick to recruit Rawlings, so that deal may not be option.

Essendon Get: Pick #9, Pick #40

North Get: DJ, S.Harvey, Pick #13, Pick #44

Thoughts?

Hmm... I think North are getting a slightly better deal there.

A possibility: If McVeigh goes to Sydney (not that they would really want him, it just depends on how much he wants to leave) then we might ask for Teague and he could play in the back pocket.

The talk already was Harvey for Teague and a third round pick, so we should keep it at that, I think.

We get: Pick #9, #pick 40, Teague
North get: Pick #13, Jacobs, Harvey.

But to be honest, I can't see Jacobs going to North. They need to replenish their midfield with Stevens and King getting old. They've got quite a few tall defenders already (Watt, Baird, Brown).

You're insane. Essendon trade up a total of 8 spots in the draft in return for two players. Not.

My simple offer of pick 22 is still on the table. I think that's just about the mark for Jacobs.

sure isn't
if you only look at the way he played against port - yes
if you include the rest of his season, he is worth a much higher pick

Man this forum is filled with some stand people..

How about essendon gets Jacobs and pick 13 and a 3rd round pick and McVeigh
And Kangaroos get Harvey
And Sydney get nothing.

Yay i'm happy...

Don't really want Teague. Everyone says we have too many players like him already (in and under). He wouldn't add anything to the side.

Would hate to see McVeigh go because I think he's improved a lot. The Swans might give us Crouch in return, who seems to be a similar type of player (tagger/defender).

Teague is a mid sized flanker..slow but corageous. We need midfielders and smith is one of those.

McViegh can go but he has improved no doubt. Might give us more leverage at the draft table for him. I think darren walsh could take his spot. Super fast and moves like wanganeen.

As for jacobs...he is a classic "tweener" not quite big enough for a Kpp and to slow to play midfield. If he left i wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

The Swans don't want McVeigh, so why would they trade with us? If he really wants to go and we can't stop him, we'd probably have to be happy with a second round pick. That's what the Pies got for Davis.
