I have heard it around the traps than the Kangaroos will be talking to Essendon regarding Shane Harvey and trying to reunite him with his brother. They are very keen on him and understandably so as I think he will be a star player.
I hope Essendon play hard and dont just give him up considering we used our top selection on him in 2001.
Rumours persist that North will try to offload Teague. I hope there is more than that as Teague is very limited and unlikely to improve much in the next few seasons.

essendon should go for dylan smith not teague

Shane" the sook" Harvey can leave. Im hoping essendon try and get quick running midfielder in Dylan Smith who was a bomber fan b4 he was drafted. He was a first round selection like harvey so maybe a straight swap could happen. We don't need or want teague. We already have a heap of slow mid sized flankers.

DAMN IT!! Harvey was exactly what we needed. This is exactly what i said would happen when we drafted him too. We'd better get a suitable trade for the little sh*t. Teague is nothing.

I reckon both our sides have the same problem, You know Shane has talent/skills just doesn't have his sh-t together. Dylan Smith, and you can check a post I wrote about him about 4 months ago on our board, is the same, has the skills/talent, but just can't get his sh-t together. I said back then that if we trade Dylan, it will come back to bite us on the ass, as he is talented, but just has to get his head together. I think a straight Shane/dylan swap would be good for both clubs, as I rate both of them.

i think your spot on jason...shane wants to play with his bro so he would be happier at north...and smith was a mad bomber supporter so i would think if he was to leave north essendon would be his first choice

The article in today's Age mentioned the Bombers talking to the Roos about Harvey and also said something along the lines of 'Essendon looking for a way to trade into the prime picks in the national draft'. Don't know how they're going to work that one out though.

disappointed that he wants out, as i thought he could be a good player for us.
think he should have been given more of a go this year, but yeah, he does seem like a bit of a sook
don't want players at essendon that don't want to be there, so hopefully we get something decent for him

Can't wait until he plays his first game against us... That will answer whether the little prick has heart or not.

Put Welshy on him....hehehehhhh.... looking forward to it already.

What kind of player is Smith? I'm assuming he is a crumbing small forward like Shane?

Essendon supporters saw what Harvey could do in a game against the Bulldogs where he played at Lloyd's feet and crumbed 3 really nice goals. Unfortunately, he really did nothing after that.

I have heard all the rumours about his work ethic and I guess if those are true then I just chalk it up to wanting to get traded.

Harvey could be a terrific player and I'd hate to lose him, but I'm not going to stop him from leaving if he just plain doesn't wanna play for us.

If Smith supported us as a kid and is the same type of player, well then, why not?

Not at all.

Smith is a midfielder. Only a midfielder.

Captained Vic Metro and was a very successful junior. We drafted him at no.6 as part of the Bell trade as he was seen as a perfect replacement. He is the same type. Small, smart, excellent endurance a accurate but not deep kick.

He has a few problems. He is not quick. IN close he breaks away well enough, mostly due to his power in his torso, but out in space he plods. His kicking depth is crap. Would struggle from 45.

Dylan's biggest asset is his attitude. Frightfully hard worker. Despite his excellent VFL form at times, he was not promoted but kept at it. Was tagged throughout the finals series (once by Brodie Holland) and found going harder.

Blokes with his work ethic make it in some way and despite his limitations, he will IMO. Peter Bell was delsited by bloody Freo at a simmilar age for the same reasons Dylan struggles, he has carved out a fairly handy career.

I believe Smith is more a midfielder than a small forward. Just kicked 1.1 in his dozen or so senior games. I get the impression this guy is bordering on being delisted. I think a Harvey-Smith straight swap would see us the losers.

He's played one good game. If the little sook wants to play with his brother good on him. Wasn't he the one that got us into hot water when he fiddled with some chick in a nightclub? I think it was from memory...
