Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dion_Scott)

Dion Scott (born 1 April 1970) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Sydney Swans, Brisbane Bears and Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL) during the 1990s.

A Tasmanian, Scott was brought up in Ulverstone but played his early football at Devonport. His AFL career was hampered by constant injuries, the first of which came when he damaged his vertebra while training with Sydney at Maroubra beach in 1991.

He only managed six appearances for the Swans in three seasons and in the 1992 AFL Draft was traded to Brisbane. Scott played three finals in 1996, including Brisbane's one point Qualifying Final win over Essendon, in which he contributed three goals.

Pick 8 in the 1988 VFL Draft (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1988_VFL_Draft)

Devenport Football Club (http://www.devonportfc.com.au/aflplayers/index_html/)

Dion’s ability came to notice after a solid debut season with Devonport in 1988, particularly with a great performance in the Blues 88 Statewide Grand Final Premiership where he kicked 2 goals, had 14 possessions and took 6 marks in ordinary conditions.

After talking with 7 AFL / VFL Clubs, Sydney claimed Dion with draft pick number 8.

After 3 seasons in the harbour city and playing only 6 games, Dion was traded in the 92 trade draft to Brisbane where he established himself as a regular between 1993 and 1999 playing 73 games and kicking 61 goals.

1996 review (http://www.surfersparadiseunit.com.au/surfers-paradise-unit-articles/1996/10/5/how-your-team-shapes-up-3rd-brisbane/)

Situations vacant: In big bold letters two metres high: CENTRE HALF-FORWARD. Dion Scott put up his hand for it in the Bears' first two finals games. But he would need to be far more consistent to stake a permanent claim.
