Motlop's manager yesterday told the Kangaroos that Motlop wanted out and wished to be traded. Port Adelaide, Essendon and St Kilda have shown interest in the 21-year-old, whom the Kangaroos are desperately trying to contact and will fight to retain.
If this is true...then I'm all for it. Daniel Motlop has an air of class surrounding him. If that little schit Shane Harvey doesn't want to play for us, it sounds like a perfect deal.

We'll have to throw in something else, it won't be a straight swap I don't think. Motlop has the score on the board, Harvey is still just potential.
I think he kicked 20 goals in a dozen matches, so he's got an eye for the big sticks. But with Cupes and Haynes as small forwards at present...

That won't happen. Port want a top pick, #13 isn't high enough. And we will still have to get rid of the likes of Jacobs and Misiti to make enough room under the cap for Stevens.

I get the feeling North will get sodomized in the same way Collingwood were sodomized by Nick Davis last year. If the player wants out, the club gets jack all. We got pick 27 for Blumfield. Everyone gets screwed eventually.

North might try to talk to him for a while, but if it's getting close to the trade deadline and he still wants to leave, North will be looking for compensation and they won't haggle all that much. Same situation for us with Harvey, although I doubt we're as keen to keep him.
But if it gets to the last day of trading and no deal has been struck, it'll probably just be Motlop for Harvey. Don't know if that will do us much good though. We'd probably want to trade him on, which would mean trying to secure a deal earlier on, which would mean offering Harvey and something else.

daniel is much younger than shannon ( 3-4 years i think) and he played 16 games for the roos this year.
Kicked 16 goals
Averages around 13 possesions.
he's only older than harvey by 5-6 months, and motlop has had much more game time.

more than what collingwood and essendon can offer.... and besides.... its a trade or he goes into the draft and port get nothing... if i was a port fan i'd love th idea of motlop ( a great player) to come down to the club and dylan smith will be great if he gets oppurtunities

Nope, we're offering a first round draft pick. Port want two first round draft picks, and if they get desperate, at least one. And one that's fairly high.
If if you dangled pick #9 and Motlop, Port might bite. But not two players.
Motlop and Smith? Not even an infinitesmal chance.
Motlop isn't a great player. The potential is there, but there's not much of a score on the board. Rose-coloured glasses. Take 'em off.

This has really given us an opportunity of not getting f***ed over by Harvey wanting to leave.

I think Allan from Carlton is our first priority at the moment, and McGrath could be used for that deal.

would not give two players for motlop. north wont give stuff all for harvey as i doubt anybody else would pick him up pre-season (although pagan loves his brother and they are similar players, even if he hasnt shown heart yet). I would say motlop is trying to get more cash and will sign for roos, otherwise i think he will be used somehow with the stevens and rawlings trades,

Just exactly has Pagan got to do with anything. Gee I know you are in Hong Kong but surely the news of Pagan going to Carlton has filtered through.
Oh and by the way, there are teams from QLD and NSW in the competition now too.
