Solomon deal close

THE saga surrounding Dean Solomon should be finalised within 48 hours.

In the money: Richmond has offered Dean Solomon in excess of $100,000 more than the Bombers.

Solomon returned to London last night after five days with his Essendon teammates in Cancun, Mexico, and he is expected to make a decision on his future as soon as today.

Richmond, which has offered him in excess of $100,000 more than Bombers, also plan to talk to him today.

Essendon is waiting to hear from Solomon's manager Michael Quinlan, who spoke to him last night.

"We hope this can be resolved in the next two days," Quinlan said.

The Tigers say they have the capacity to fit both Nathan Brown and Solomon under their salary cap.

"Yes, there will be players leaving and there will be other avenues, but that's all part of the process," Richmond director of football Greg Miller said last night.

The Tigers are yet to talk to the Western Bulldogs about the trade for Brown.

So what would their offer to him be? As much as $450k?

That club......

Apparently Richmond have offered him $400k. We've offered around $250,000 (which is more than reasonable).

$400k for Solomon is insane.

Once players start getting greedy, they stop playing it just for the game.
If he wants 400k then he can **** off , i'd rather someone who will give it there all and not just for the money.

i agree that he should stay, but very hard if you get offered 100-150k more salary to "work" somewhere else. soloman is a pretty good business man too with restaurants and pubs invested in so cash is obviously a big thing for him. Cant really blame a bloke for leaving to get paid an exorbitant amount though. after three years when the next offer is significantly less is the testing point, as he can be remembered as a journey-man or a "great" of a club
