I have seen alot of people lately (not only at this forum) calling him alot of names like greedy, money hungry and so on...
That doesnt make a whole lot of sense to me since it wasnt like he was asking for the amounts that were beeing thrown at him.. It was the Richmond footy club....
Really though, if you got offered an extra $150,000 a year would you take it.... People can go on and on about how they would chose loyalty but i guarentee you 99% of the people here would take the money... I know i would.
We did a lot for Dean last year. If that means nothing to him...

I guarentee you 99% of the people here would not get paid for not doing their job ala Solomon last year.

The club did so much for him last year and now what does he do? I would not take money over success- he needs to learn from Brisbane and stay in a successful team over the extra money.
Hirdy's speech has not worked.

Heck, most of us dont earn in 10 years what he got for one year of doing nothing - he idn't even stay around the club!
Word from Essendon is that the Bombers are not thrilled with his attitude and feel their money might be better invested in someone willing to give something back.

There has been a lot of cases with players staying with a club rather than leave for more money elsewhere. Its called LOYALTY, something SOLOMONEYBAGS knows nothing about.

The crowd is going to give him absolute hell next year, especially with his name.

Chris Grant did it.
And this year Lucas also did it. Same sort of story. Kid was told by his dad that Chris Grant recived a letter from his biggest young fan (50c or whatever it was) begging him to stay at footscray. So the kid saved up $10 of his pocket money and mailed it to lucas pleading him to stay. Lucas sent it back to the young chap, and showed the kid and his dad around the club Hall Of Fame, rooms etc. He then resigned despite a bigger offer from another club.
So was the story on talking footy.

I'd sincerely hope not. This is one thing that irks me about some two headed essendon supporters, their penchant to turn on their own. I was there that fateful day that Paul Salmon was booed off at Waverley, i was absolutely mortified. I'd expect that from Carlton and Collingwood supporters, but hey, we're supposed to be better than them right?? I mean its one thing to be passionate and support your team, its another to turn feral and shout abuse at someone who puts in hundreds of hours a year to play for 'your' football team.
Some of you guys need to get a grip. As the person stated who started this thread, if someone was to offer you another 150,000, on top of what you were currently getting, it would make you think at least, and that is what he has done, have a serious think. I spoke to Sheeds on Sunday night, and even at that stage he was still confident that Solly would stay at the club, he wasn't aware that Solly had walked out, as all the media outlets would lead you to believe. So, if he does indeed stay at the club, as is looking more and more likely, think twice next year before you spout **** at your own team, and save the venom for the maggots that deserve it.....the umpires;)
