View Full Version : Draft news!

Last week I got a phone call from someone at the club. They wanted to know about a local player who is in the up-coming draft. I can't say who the player is because he is a little known player that the club has been trying to keep quiet and don't want anyone else to find out about him because he is going to be a gun footballer. He is already, but can only improve.

These get more and more vague.
Care to name the club, at least? State League, Premier Division? A current senior player at his club, or an u/18?

Murray Bushrangers perhaps, SB??
Or, you're not suggesting that you are nominating for the draft, are you?

There is no point because you won't know the club nor the player.
The player is a key positional player, with enough agility, athleticism and pace to play stints on the ball or the wing with a booming kick.

Surely that would be taking his Hadley bandwagon a bit too far. ;)

That or SB is (as has previously been suspected by those on this forum) somehow related to goaldrush and therefore knows every single AFL player, not to mention every single AFL draftee!

With an attitude and abuse like that, it doesn't surprise me that you are kicked out of the football.

Don't believe everything in the newspapers so far this week. My understanding is that the only one of the GF22 that is of concern is Lynchy. He had intended to retire and they are trying to convince him to play on. It has NOTHING to do with pay.

Don't you mean enough? How old are you? Because your english is shocking.
I'm just one of these people hey? You obviously don't know me well enough to comment.
Let's do some maths. Let's hope it's better than your english.
2001 - 6 games out of 18. (knee reconstruction) - 17 years of age
2002 - 16 games coming back from knee reconstruction. Yet again, 18 in a season.
2003 - Knee went again on me during training in March in pre-season. Took a while for me to get it checked out because it didn't feel like an ACL but rather a jarred knee. Operation a few months back. Therefore 0 games out of 18 for this year. - 19 years of age at the time now 20.
So add it up.
6 + 16 = 22. You might want to help me on this.
18 games a year x 3 years = 54 games.
Therefore 22/54 games in the last 3 years I have played. Next year I won't be playing even though I could come back in May, so by 2005 when I return, I would have played 22 games out of a possible 70 plus and I'll be 21 years of age.
Therefore you can't justify that I am one of these people that played and wasn't good enough because you didn't know me in the first place and if you knew all that you wouldn't have said what you said.
Better luck next time.

GOY
not the only person who has ever had bad injuries over a long period of time special....i know it is bad & very unfortunate for you becasue it stops you playing the game you love.. but everything happens for a reason.....
& you abused me the other day for not being able to type (its the way i type.. not going to change... so get over it.. ) & now
Because your english is shocking... im sure that its just a slip of the finger onto the key right next to it....& everyone does it everynow & then... i do it when i get emotional about what i am writing & my head is going to fast fpr my hands on the keyboard....
since when were you the consumate professional typer/english speaker?
ENOUGH!!!
Forget your petty **** and get on with supporting your team.
English Professors, Mathematicians, Statesticians, GOY, NFI, OLS's......
Don't want to know about it! Don't give a flying fig about it! Stop the petty bitching and get on with the bloody footy (and please do it in a way that the majority of users will understand!)
If you can't do it (and I don't care if you are 18 or 80!), then please do us all a favour and find another place to be your outlet for whatever personal frustration you have.
3 Premierships in a row, umpteen accolades for individual players, team efforts, coaching staff etc etc and all we are getting is grief between supporters because of a perception (be it from the authors or the respondants) that some supporters think they are better than others because of geographical location, abilty to attend games, difference of opinion, how many games an individual has played, whatever....there is a fine line between good natured ribbing, and making it personal. And some are continually crossing that line.
LET IT GO!
Baske in the glory! Remember the bad times, enjoy the success! Mourn the losses, celebrate the wins! Dissect the strategies! Clarify the doubletalk! Create biographies of the past and tantalise with the options of the future. But DON'T line it all up under a 'we know better than you' scenario under any circumstances. Don't make the divisions. And DON'T belittle the achievements of OUR GREAT CLUB, but being a supporter base of spoilt and whinging protestors.
