'Essendon is in for a busy week, with defender Danny Jacobs a real possibility to follow Solomon out of the club.
Jacobs received a revised contract offer from the Bombers last week, but is believed to be weighing up far better offers from Carlton and Melbourne.'
He'll go to melbourne.
Your sorely missed DJ. :(

Dont think Essendon will miss his turnovers from half-back that much!

Why? He is a solid player who any club would welcome with open arms.

Seems like preseason draft material. No one needs to trade for overpriced half back flankers.

got a few of his type already
A solid player to replace another solid player is not really a good recruiting policy

;)
There's a few clubs who wouldn't mind having him. He might be used in the deal that gets Allan to Essendon.

Coming from a bloke who thinks Nick stevens is a "superstar power on baller" Ill take that comment with a pinch of salt

He should stay at Essendon. If Solomon goes there should be enough cap room for Jacobs.
Unless the Bombers want the money to grab Nick Stevens.

Unless the Bombers want the money to grab Nick Stevens. Or pay James Hird some more. :D
Definitely I'd think he'd be more use to Essendon than any other club with Solomon leaving.

I wouldn't mind Jacobs. Good skills, good mark for his height. Bit soft, and at least he wouldn't have to play on Drew Petrie again.

I'm not convinced. We've still got Rama to come back, although obviously there's a lot of doubt there. Rama started the season in excellent form, and started to make use of his huge talents. If he can play that way next year then I don't think Stevens will improve us all that much. Unfortunately, we may not know the situation with Rama until too late, so perhaps we have to count our chickens before they've hatched.

It may not be exact but it aint far off. To say jacobs holds no trade appeal is crap

Brett told me he would offer #10 + Nathan Lonie for Jacobs.
If Essendon were to get that, they'd be dancing in the street.

Pick #5 for Jacobs AND Solomon.
Then the Bombers have 2 first rounders to secure Stevens.
Dream on...i'll give you pick Solomon for pick #5....
not both....
I'll go one better Cowboy.
Pick 5 & Paul Wheatley for Solly & Jacobs.
or even
Pick 5, Paul Wheatley & Peter Walsh for Solly Jacobs and 3rd or 4th rnd pick.
If I was Melbourne I would be dealing with the Bombers before the other sides. They have cap pressure and usually offer good deals, like Heff for a draft pick.

Jacobs would be handy at Carlton, does appear to be a victim of Salary Cap restraints at Bomberland
They need a new CEO IMO or someone who does player Contracts more sensibly. Over the past two years, I think Peter Jackson has proven to be a very overrated football operations manager, and I'm shocked he was even considered for the role of AFL head honcho.

Jacobs and Solomon for pick #5 and Lamb?
I'd do Solomon and Jacobs for pick 5, would be nice to get a player back if we can milk it, but i'd be content with that, been a while since we had a pick that high. Just hope that if we do get something that high up Dodoro doesn't pull a 'project' out of his arse and actually drafts someone who can play.

solly and jacobs for pick 5 and wheatly or lamb
wheatley and lamb are crap and wont make it back into the first side anyway so its like giving away nothing
ofcourse if we can lure mal michael for pick 5 i'd rather take him
it would be funny if pick 5 turned out to be a really ****ty player :P lol since there is all thsi fuss bout it
