I was just thinking when I read this that what if Milli Vanilli had come along now instead of 15 years ago?

We now have various computer voice/pitch correction devices in place to turn awful singers into good ones, so I'd guess those two blokes would be allowed to sing on the records nowadays.

You can never make a bad singer good with computer software. You can correct their pitch and phrasing, you can drown them in effects, but it's always going to end up sounding very generic. You can't synthesize soul.
