the paper said today that mark Williams will be after an Early Draft pick PLUS a very good player in return for Nick Stevens
getting a bit greedy there Chocko
My opinion is well known on this subject..i think ill leave it at that
I thought Port can't afford a very good player.
Port need to be carefull playing hardball with stevens, asking to much will drive ppl away, and force stevens into the draft where he'll probably end up at Carlton anyway. Stevens is a good player, but I don't think he's worth what Port is asking.

Bit over-rated in my view. I think the Woey deal last year is about fight, late first round pick. Only difference is age. So either make the pick higher, throw in another one or a player.
Anything more and clubs will walk away. Worst case for Stevens is he gets the $$$ from Carlton or the Dogs.

Yeah, we do not over-pay, so what if we do not get him, stiff, we have missed out before and will miss out again. Still have better results that the mighty Port Adelaide.

And just as many premierships since our inception to show.

Of course Choko's going to be saying that. It's Monday of Trade Week. He's just following the script:
Monday:
We know Player X has quit the club but we couldn't possibly part with him - he's the best footballer in the past 50 years. Player X is a deadset champion who will turn his new club into a premiership contender. We want two first-round picks, two ready-made players and a new cappucino machine for the admin area.
Wednesday:
We might be persuaded to trade Player X, after all, he does want to leave and his best footy may be behind him and we might be tempted by any offer, with or without the cappucino machine.
Friday:
We're pleased to announce that we've been able to successfully trade away Player X and get him as far away from our club as possible. He was a hinderance to team morale, never put himself on the line for our club, so good riddance to him. We're stoked to get pick 85 for him, which we'll probably use to draft the next Michael Voss.
