And a big booo hiss says this Hawk fan!
Was at Glenferrie today and going about contract negotiations as part of the 'Rawling$' deal
We should of learnt off the Barry Young saga not to pickup Bummer duds

Please god no
have to be getting a fair bit more than that for Jade
*laughing all the way to the bank*
:D
If Sheedy pulls that one off, I'll be doing a bit of pulling myself.

Look, the hawks have a good tradition happening with taking one dud bulldogs tall every year. I dont see why the bombers should muscle in on our action.
This year, I nominate Patrick wiggins.
I'll see your Patrick Wiggins, and raise you an Aaron Henneman. :p

"Rumoured" deal
Bolton & Pick 28 -> Hawthorn
Rawlings & S. Harvey -> Roos
D. Motlop & Pick 24 -> Essendon
Ess lose - Bolton, Harvey & Pick 28 Gain - Motlop & Pick 24
Roos lose - Motlop & Pick 24 Gain - Rawlings & Harvey
Haw lose - Rawlings Gain - Bolton & Pick 28
you've got to be gagging me..
that could never happen. by that rationale, the team that has the LEAST bargaining power - the roos - are the ones that gain the most.
i don't agree that essendon would even be looking to off-load bolton...? he's young, and they certainly wouldn't be paying him that much $$$, so their salary cap can keep in check for at least one year..
if they take motlop on board, i can see it already.. www.mots.com - yep, we'll pay you $100K for that one..

Well we are losing Harvey anyway and i dont really rate him... Pick 28 will be a decent addition but i dont want to lose Bolton seeing as we are already likely to lose Jacobs and Solomon...

This trade makes sense. Could very well be a goer.
The word is that one could well be sealed tomorrow about lunchtime.

R u kidding! No goer here.
Bolton's useless, and doesn't compensate Hawks enough for losing Rawlings. May as well talk Kingsly Hunter out of retirement!
We should at least get Jacobs or give us Solomon!

Tim Harrington's already told clubs that Motlop is not on the trading block ATM, and the club is confident of keeping Jnr. If a trade like this was completed it wouldn't be until Friday and would be cos Jnr's said under no circumstances will he stay.

Bolton? For Rawlings? Are you ok? These are the dangers of playing with prescription medication. Where did you get "the word"? Just after you took those blue pills right?
Good lord. No, not Aaron.
How many question marke did I use?

I actually rate Bolton. He's versatile, big, and could be handy at either end of the ground next year. Not as good as Rawlings, so a draft pick would have to be included, but he could play Jade's role next season.
Bolton and pick 24 would be reasonable.

Bolton is a star, bigman, very versitile, fast, alot of ticker
only weakness is probably strength and overhead marking, and accuracy for goal isnt dead on, if he goes to the hawks, he'll give 110%

Roos do very nicely out of that one.
For Essendon to do it we pretty much have to keep Jacobs.

only a fool and/or essendon fan would think this deal gets done,
Mark Bolton and Dean Solomon were picked up in the 1996 draft (4 and 18); Bolton has been a disappointment, while Solomon has come on in leaps and bounds.
He may go to Hawthorn (??!), but only as filler.

Bolton is certainly not a star, but he's certainly not a hack.

Practically every media outlet has Bolton to Hawthorn in a Rawlings deal with some saying its 'a done deal' so something is happening
Too much smoke around for it not to be 'just a rumour'
I'd have Jacobs over that hack Bolton any day of the week, but I'm wary of Sheedy trying to offload anybody
Some sort of deal is taking place between Hawthorn, Roos & Bombers

He's a midfielder who kicks goals.
But as for defence... No one would have picked McVeigh to be a back pocket stopper, but he's done a very good job.

Bolton = Baird with better disposal and a shade more versatile.
Solid average footballer. Handy to have, not worth even remote consideration when there's been a 'price' of a pick 5 on the table presented to us for Rawlings from elsewhere.
If we settle for something as poor an offering as this... :( :( :(

Nuts& is a star really when u consider he played Pavliech out of 2 games can play anywhere on any1 (KPP) give it all while not strong over head he wont be marked against (watch him the ball in always at ground level after a contest with him in it its trulyt amazing) He averages 14 possies a game kicked 15 odd goals andaveraged 5 marks a game. he is 23 but has 5 years experiance now... true he isnt a out and out match winner but he is a champ tries hard the whole shammoz

Bolton sounds like Rawlings 5 years ago. throw in Harford for a nice hard midfielder an it might be a goer
