Essendon get to dominate the midfield for another decade.

Be nearly as good as the Wells/Carey trade.

Goodes is the damn Brownlow Medalist, and a very similar player to Pavlich? I think that's an even trade.

Here's a super mega trade deal that could actually work:

Port:
Gain - Didak + #18
Lose - Stevens + #46

Kangaroos:
Gain - Rawlings
Lose - Motlop + #24

Hawthorn:
Gain - Brown + #24
Lose - Rawlings + #10

Western Bulldogs:
Gain - Jacobs + #6
Lose - Brown + #34

Essendon:
Gain - Motlop + #10 + #34
Lose - Soloman + Jacobs

Collingwood:
Gain - Stevens + #46
Lose - Didak + #18

Richmond:
Gain - Soloman + Wheatley + Pick #52
Lose - Pick #6 + Holland

Melbourne:
Gain - Holland
Lose - Pick #52 + Wheatley

Edit:
Collingwood's deal was too good, Port were getting ripped off.

As an Essendon supporter I would never even consider Hird for Black, Hird is the best player I've ever seen, the day Hird retires I'm going to be lost, what will the Essendon Football Club be without James Hird?

Well according to that guy with a player who is less injury prone and is going to be playing for a much longer time..

You don't trade players that are the heart and soul of your club. Whatever gains it might make list-wise would be more than off-set by the disillusionment caused to players and fans.

Be nearly as good as the Wells/Carey trade. Of course, a champion could be traded when there are extraordinary circumstances.

Wouldn't this then be a separate deal from the rest?

Now the trade is not so mega. ;)

Heck, you could even separate the Holland for Wheatley + pick #52 (as it only involves two clubs) from the rest.
