During my golf trip to 13th Beach, we stayed at the Ocean Grove Hotel. Also staying there was all the younger lads from the Maryborough Rovers FC on an end of season trip. One of them was top 10 draft prospect Troy Chaplin who has played with North Ballarat Rebels.
Had a long chat with 'Charlie' and found out he has been spoken to by 9 clubs and is confident of being picked up by someone. Thought that Port coach Mark Williams was an absolute nutter after the weird line of questioning he received.
At the draft camp most of the guys got along real well and their is a stack of really good players in this years lot. He rated Kepler Bradley as a gun player, Colin Sylvia as the better player over Kane Tenace and that Fergus Watts is a complete ****. He also gave me big raps on one of his team-mates, an nuggety half-back called 'Sellers' who also played at the Rebels. Doubtful he will get drafted but assured me he should at least be given a go on a rookie list.
