As much fun as it is to speculate on trades etc. It seems to miss the point when some clown rates all 18 of his players the proxy all australian team in waiting, and that to trade for anyone will require exchanging of all draft picks and the club champion.
Which is simply my point, how many teams made the finals this year, and who won the flag? because reading some of the posts on here, and the value of certain players, you would presume all 16 teams won the flag.
If you have high draft picks, it's because you had a poor year, and in turn your players should carry a discount. if your first round pick is in the 'teens, then you had a good year and maybe a couple of players will carry a premium.
You do not have a priority pick and a team of champions, it just doesn't work that way. If a player is out of contract, you have less bargaining power than if he is not.
Can we try to be a bit more realistic, as I for one, would really enjoy this stuff more if people took a more common sense approach to their lists.
