'Mark Mercuri is believed to have agreed to a pay cut of up to $100,000, a salary cap saving to Essendon of $50,000 given that he will become a veteran-listed player next year.'
Great!!
I dont think he had a choice. Not after the **** he has served up since 2000. A very popular bloke at the club just got more popular. Injuries have cruelled him to the extent that he is just a shadow of his former self.

yeah thats good to see, fair enough too I might add. Personally Im still not going to write of mercs, he's always been one of my fav players and I think he still has something to offer the club. GO MERCS 2004.

Great!!
He is my favourite player but really, given the effort of the past 3 seasons, it's the least he could do.

It`s his second large paycut. This man is all class. Feel for him though, he was on **** coin in his younger days , when he really turned it on. Funny how things turn around.
He has taken a pay cut in the last 3 years. He is a class act.

the last 3 yrs ?? thats a bit harsh... I wouldnt go as far as that, I was just watching an eagles game of round 1o or 11 this year where mercs was playing som real good footy.. hes still got the potential to pull himself out of this slump.. the paycut was bound to happen tho.. hope he leaves the team on a good note, not with everyone baggin his last few years
Early tip for next years best club man;)
