Stevens for #2 Draft pick..

CARLTON looks certain to offer its prized priority selection (No. 2) in the national draft in a bid to land Port Adelaide midfielder Nick Stevens.

Why would we offer pick 2 and a player.. when we can get a gun like Sylvia and just rebuild the whole club.. Stevens will get disgruntled at Carlton like everyone else and will want out at the end of the contract he signs anyway.. rather get Sylvia.. and by the time he is ready to become a star we will be decent again! Dont get me wrong Stevens is a star.. but i'd rather see rebuilding

The simple answer is that the Blues are chasing a quick fix rather than trying to re-build

I don't think I'd part with the #2 pick and a player for Stevens. It is a big price to pay for a midfielder who plays a lot like Camporeale, and it has been obvious how badly Camporeale has struggled without in and under midfielders and protection around him. I'd suggest he was worth a pick between 10 and 15 and a player such as Livingston.

Carlton would be stupid to trade their number 2 pick for anything, unless it young and absolute star already - i.e. Pavlich, Judd, Riewoldt (not sure of the contract status of those guys except Judd), Hasleby, etc,. etc,.

I don't think we'd do that deal. Maybe they got it backwards. Stevens and another player for pick #2. That sounds better.

I highly doubt we'll trade the pick.

What is so stupid about this? Last time Carlton had a top 4 pick they snapped up Luke Livingston.
