He describes Kim Beasley as the worst opposition leader since the war - for not releasing policies until the election campaign.
And he describes Gough Whitlam as the worst prime minister.

Well, John, you are far too modest. You are the worst on both counts.

Who remembers Alexander Downer ? - sheesh that would have to be the most excruciating 9 months of Opposition politics it was ever my misfortune to ebdure.

And worst Prime Minister ? - I agree Gough was good on rhetoric but couldn't govern but how about Billy McMahon for chrissake ?

He would have to be the most foolish Prime Minister Australia has ever had - by miles.

And Stanley Melbourne Bruce ? - an elegant and stylish man who really dressed well, but hey - hes the only sitting PM ever to lose his own seat - he was that useless !

John Howard's own record as Opposition Leader 1985-1990 was pretty ordinary as well.

What about Howards mate John Hewson? He had all sorts of bright ideas, and now he cant even hold down a job in private industry. Where do these blokes come from? I mean he had never had a real job(Acadamia and Politics are not real jobs) but still felt quite comfortable lecturing everyone about what they should be doing. Politics is far too seperated from reality.

Why is that TT?
Because he was illegallydismissed by an alcoholic representative of the queen?

Or because he was out manoeuvred by a megalomaniac millionaire grazier who dictated to his own senators on how to vote?

I remember my youth when I would laugh at my American schoolfriend for his countries stupidity in voting for Reagan, not once but twice. I would tell stories about how you tell when the real Reagan was speaking (the puppeteers hand wasn't stuck up his arse) or that the shooter who attempted to assassinate him didn't miss, but hit him in the only part of his body that would effect his Presidency, his head.
But of course now he is laughing at me, because the only person in the world dumber than Reagan (even in his current state) has been elected Prime Minister of Australia, not once but twice. How humiliating.
