just wondering how may of our so called fans want to take a back step now and apologise to and admire solomon for what he has done. he IS now staying for 100k a year less than what he could have got. and we should be thankful for that because hes as hard as nails and will be here for another 10 years.
cheers solly i kept supporting you

No thanx..he said he was going and thats it we took his decision at face value. He did a backflip and thats his problem. He is now overpaid and he better live up to the money next year. If its ok to bag the **** outa mercs for not performing then he will get the same. Its up to solly to mend some fences.

if solomon plays dead like mercuri for 4 years then fair enough, but knowing the way solomon plays he wont be like that. he hits packs at a thousand miles an hour, and opponents watch where he comes from. think we should all be very glad that he is with us not against us.

Of course id rather have solly in my team...but im not feeling sorry for bagging the crap outa him. He made a decision to go and we based our opinion on that decision. The fact that he has now changed his mind is his problem not mine. A good year for the EFC will make us all forget the happenings of the past week.

No apologies whatsoever. I wanted to trade him all along and i am p*ssed off that the club gave in and offered more when it looked as though he would walk. What kind of message does that send to the other players/managers? Every man and his dog is going to try and milk us dry now thanks to this little episode.

I am still hoping against hope that he won't stay and we can get a good trade.

just new here to big footy guys & although a lions supporter, have long been a fan of the bombers style & have been following the solly situation with great interest. good to see sheeds has talked him into staying but do you really want to keep the guy if his hearts not in it? strong word is that he`s a bit 'out there' like his mate the poet browny

He has to perform to get the extra cash, my understanding is that he has the capacity to earn $300,000 that would depend on his performance, his set earnings are not too different than originally offered.

I don't think anyone needs to apologise. Footy's a passionate game. Essendon's a passionate club and it's supporters have 100 times more the passion of any others. These things should be put to bed and forgotten. Forgive and forget. Except for Greg Anderson and Gavin Wanganeen. They still cut deep.
That's the best thing about all of of this is that we "can" move on now from this topic cos Solly's not going anywhere.
The Prodigal Son hath returned, so to speak.

Nah not greg - I went up to him at a little athletics meet at OSF (Showing my age) and got his autograph - of cours I was wearing my permiers t-shirt and made damn sure he saw me wearing it.

Bloody sweet that was - just wish I had have got a photo.

Apologise? I think not. He quit, remember?

I'm bloody thankful that he saw some sense and made the right decision in the end, and I hope he goes and proves to us all now how much this club means to him (and earns the money). But I don't think we should be 'sorry', he did walk out on us, regardless of the decision he's made now.

My gripe was with how he treated us after the way we helped him with his knee. His type do not fall off trees, richmond were smart he is just the type of player they need, collingwood as well but they have chased him at every opportunity since he debuted.
Bad ****ing luck tiges, bad ****ing luck pies.

I never said a bad word about him, and im produ to say it. Ive been a huge fan of his all along, and although I wasnt happy that I thought he was leaving, I never turned on him. Congratulations Solly, Mateship over money.

Now...we make our assault on season 2004.
