Your diatribe here is falling on deaf ears - half of us didn't want the guy anyway - so your gloating and stroking is quite in vain.

Now go and worry about how you're going to rort the system a bit more to pay for Solly.

Half of you had Solomon in your top 3 players for next year's Richmond B&F you fibber.

You have guys on your rabble boards showing Solomon in a Richmond Jumper.

You pay Darren Gaspar $500,000 a year.

Face it - you and your club are basket cases

You pay Mark Mercuri $500,000 a year, opps sorry I forgot that he graciously took a paycut, but at $400,000 a year you'll certainly get some great purchase in the VFL

Napier get out of the public library free internet section and crawl back into your cardboard box under the west gate bridge

Gaspar has also taken a pay cut, although not that he needs ot being a quality player unlike Mercuri.

Correction, The original Mercuri contract was 500k, but he has taken about 3 paycuts since signing that deal. His contract would be more around the 300k area these days. But still that's too much to be paying for a player who wont get much game time, if any at all next season.

Eatin Joe - 2 Premiership Medallions
Mercuri - 2 Premiership Medallions
Gaspar - None

By the way, how may games did Gaspar put in for you guys this year. And if you blame injury then you are hypocritical losers.

Smokin joe has averaged 20-25possessions a game for the season, and continues to be a ball magnet. It was only late in the season when Essendons younger players started to shine that Joe was forced to be an impact player off the bench. (still getting 10-20 touches).

Actually he was touted as all australian this year until he did his knee (Herald sun - 13 June).

Oh and by the way, i am still waiting for the annoucement on us getting done for being salary cap cheats.

All you Richmond supporters! You can all go to hell.
Solomon has decided to stay realising that he wants to play in finals in future years not do nothing in September.

Keep trying boys! You might snag someone half decent if you are lucky.

Getting Captain Custard (Campbell) to try and tug at Solomon by using that he owns a pub with Richmond players is laughable.
You can keep Ray Hall!

Happy now that David Bourke salary is not included. What a joke!

err .... thats right you guys will be paying that hack Ben Holland's salary when he is at another club next year....... 400K what a laugh!

oh, by the way at least Mercuri put in some very good years before his brother passed away.. second in the brownlow too

Did they watch the Freo final or were they on holidays again? Smokin killed them that night.

Mate. Tigerland would crawl over broken glass to attain the talents of someone like Smokin' Joe!

Smokin' Joe?????, crawl over broken glass??????, when we (Richmond) were smoking what exactly????????
Settle down. Soloman stayed, and i think both side's supoporters are happy, so calm down.

TigerMal. Im calm. Really :). It's all good.

I just find it amusingly insulting that Joe Misiti who averages 25 possessions a game and is a gun midfielder gets called Fat Joe...

....and I would assure you that Smokin Joe would be well sought by other clubs.

Andrew.

15 Oct 2003, 15:59
i don't know if the "insult" is directed at Joe or the dons and what they pay someone, who the game has maybe passed by. I really don't know if other clubs would take him on, definately not as a "gun", but agree to disagree.

This also stems form the criticism that the TIGERS have copped over pay packets to Gas, richo, soup etc, and all we are saying is that it is not all one way.

cheers

Ari
15 Oct 2003, 16:17
Agree to disagree then ;)

But you are quite right in saying that the Tigers have certainly copped a fair wack from opposition clubs about Richo etc.

Misiti is one of my fav players and just got under my nose to see him being dissed like that.

I agree however that he really is ending in his time as a footballer. I hope he can play out his career proudly and not just pale into insignificance.

Good luck on your chase of Brown!

Andrew.

Hmm, remind me...what were Richmond's attendances like this year?

Richmond fans are always one of the the first to crucify their own when things go horribly wrong, eg in.....well, every year since 1980 really :p

We didn't want Solly. Nice one guys. Perhaps the Richmond trolls who so nicely paid visits to our forums might like to disagree. Signed, sealed, delivered, oops, no wait, I'd rather be a Bomber.

Welcome back Solly.

Essendon paid Mercs 500k a year because he came 2nd in a Brownlow, good year 99 for Mercs, end of a long quality period for him. Retospectively not a good decision, but at the time he was worth it. But Gaspar, was he really ever worth anything near that. Maybe one or 2 good years, maybe?

15 Oct 2003, 20:42
Not sickening Boz, just sad. They should admit and stick to their beliefs. I'm still ****ed at Solly for the way hes been acting recently, but if he proves himself to be loyal and determined, I'll be happy.

For all those interested in buying Richmond's last two premierships on DVD call the footy club on 1800-POACHERS and reserve your copy today for $199* each. You can watch them over and over again for the next 30 years until the Mighty Tigers win another one.

*Price is this high due to extreme formatting costs. The film type used back in the days of the last two Tiger premierships is ancient and much time and money is needed to be spent to keep up with modern technology

Bozza,

You say that sheedy has never thrown big bucks at a player that has subsequently caused unrest with the rest of the team.

Ever heard of Ben Doolan ?

Not only are you unoriginal, but you prove to everyone that you are a good prospect for the tool of the year.

Hold on to those grand final victories, it seems to be the license you have to be a ********. I cant wait to see the Brisbane lions supporters start trolling your forum. Whoops...sorry...to quote Jimmy Hird "We'll just have to get over it."

This goes to supporters of both sides.

I would have thought that now that Solomon has agreed to stay with Essendon, citing mateship as a reason to stay, it would be wise of all of us to say..well it's happened and we can move on.

Yes I was disappointed with how the Solomon situation was handled by all parties involved over the last 2 weeks.

Maybe we should all just put what has happened behind us and be thankful of a result that would appear to be a good one for all concerned.

I don't ever recall Doolan being a big name, perhaps I'm a bit young to remember. He was dirt for us though.

Banned? News to me.

Maybe there were bad options. It's interesting to see that you resort to this rather than admit that Doolan was an example of what you say Essendon never does.

Also Miller to Sheedy...

"When you see it dribble .. laugh at it & watch it squeal."
