Got my membership renewal from the club last night and I must admit i am very impressed. This is the best one they have ever produced.

The personalized use of my name in the "press release" is sensational. Looks like someone in the marketing department is earning their dough. I imagine Ian Campbell has a fair bit to do with this.

Fortunately i have been able to show proof of membership since 87 (although i actually have been an adult member since at least 77. So now i am a "gold tiger" with a key ring, hat and invite to cocktail party at Crown.

I have been a AFL member (Richmond package) for the past two years - I will also take out an extra RFC membership this year as a vote of confidence in what they are doing, (see - marketing works). Also if i renew by 20th Feb i get a free pair of dirty dog sunglasses worth $110.

Also great use of Cogs by the marketing boys.

Have others got this offer yet?

Yellow and black... It's in the blood !!!

No offence to the membership department but i hardly ever read the stuff that comes out. Been a member of Ton Up since the early '90s, and it seems to be the package for me.

But i do roll my eyes a bit when i get personalised letters addressed to "Mr Froars" lol, even after you've pointed out the mistake before .

Firstly - this is not a troll.

peejay it is good that Richmond are doing that with your name in the press release, but without being nasty Essendon have done that for years, the difference being your surname was listed as the starting centreman in the Friday paper. This does work and a lot of Dons fans commented at the time that it was a good idea.

Richmond have done very well with their Dirty Dog sponsorship to get free sunnies for everyone that signs up that early, this (from what I know) would be the first time an AFL Club has done such a thing. Having said that DD may regret it as they could be giving away (theoretically) 20,000 odd pairs of sunnies:D

Do Richmond have any packages that guarantee the right to buy a GF ticket if they are a competing team?

Ha don't worry froars you not alone for years I was Mr Nicol instead of Miss Nicole despite the numerous phone calls saying they had gotten it wrong :p

I agree Peejay, I also got my membership renewal today and it's definently very impressive.

Great to see Cogs being "the face" of Richmond. From memory, only Cogs, Brad Ottens and Kane Johnson are pictured in the brochure. Strange not seeing Richo plastered everywhere.Sign of the times I guess..... Also noticed the Nike swoosh had been replaced by the Tigers emblem on the jumpers. Hmmm...... Hope we're not going back to the Lotto days!

And I have been a member for 15 years, but missed a year due to my first mortgage ($=0). So officially I'm a second year member - d'oh! Ah well, I'm sure my free pair of "Dirty Dogs" will help me get over it. ;)

Full marks to the marketing dept! :D

If you are a "ton up" member you are guaranteed access to all Richmond finals. $825 includes 17 game membership, Reserved A grade seat, Room access pre, during and post game. Afternnoon tean and drinks at half time. medallion and social club membership.

Also Silver (5 - 9 year members) Gold (10 - 24) and platinum (25 - 49) go into ballot for first half of finals. If you miss out then you go with all the other members into a ballott for the second half. So long time members get two bites of the cherry.

When you say room access do you mean the players rooms? Surely a bunch of supporters wouldnt be permitted to walk around in the rooms before during and post game.

i can only "prove" continous membership since 87 but have been since at least 77. That is the problem with retrospective member from.

How did you prove the length of your membership.

I was a player sponsor in the mid nineties - when i had a bit more spare cash lying around.

Have the prices gone up from this year, I have to renew my niece & nephew's memberships & does the free sunnies offer apply to the Junior memberships as well?

All members should wear their sunglasses to our first day game. Be nice to see what the turn out would be like.

I dont think thats very good news because IMO if we lose Hall we are a very short team. #6 and Bowden would impress me more.

Oops sorry ibleed :). I didn't expect to see the Ch7 Brown report in this thread.

Received my membership renewals yesterday and renewed today at Punt Road. All ready for 2004 :).

The sunnies will arrive sometime early? in the new year. The woman at the desk said the Club is hoping to post out the sunnies and membership out together but they may arrive separately.

With all the sunnies being given out we'll be able to adopt the membership slogan the Crows had a while back.

"The future's so bright we gotta wear shades."
