Got nothing for a quality player...could of had the handy pick of 17 but once again your coach has screwed you over. You have been bent over for not realising Stevens was only ever worth a 1st round pick.
I'm disappointed Collingwood didn't get him, but to go to a team like Carlton will not hurt as much as him going to someone like essendon or hawthorn.
It will be interesting to see if Stevens puts a price on his head for the pre season draft and Collingwood leave a place on their list for him.

The only people that have screwed us over are Nick and Max Stevens.

Collingwood screwed themselves over by not making a real offer for a top notch player, and sending a very clear message to any other players thinking of playing for the Magpies that you're not willing to do what it takes to get them to the club.

What a load of Crap. I am sure everyone has got a clear message (you Idiot), Port wanted something we didnt have! we offered what we could, they said no, end of story, he goes to the draft. We didnt lose out because we never had him in the first place, Port lose because the are greedy......................

With Collingwood having betheras, richardson, freeborn, scotland all being sacked, retire or traded we have freed up over 600k. We could offer stevens that for his first year then considerably less for the next 2. That would put all clubs under salary cap pressure and may have to pass on him

Good point, but there are 14 clubs before us.

most of the 14 if not all of them are near their cap, we have plenty of room.....rawlings might do the same with the Dogs

Port wanted a decent trade. You telling me that this years grand finalists didn't have the resources to make a decent trade.

BULL****!

I'm a Dockers supporter and the Pies arrogance is ****ing me off.

You don't trade... you lose.

Port will have Francou and Primus healthy next year and they'll be Ports two big recruits and Collingwood can go to hell.

That is a bloody brilliant plan. They have a helluva lot of room left with Bucks and the delistings. Maybe this is the last card that everyone has forgotten....

Oh and BTW what the hell would be wrong with McGough and Scotland for Stevens? Sure Port would lose from this deal but it's sure as hell a lot more than nothing other than up to 500k off the cap.
Scotland is a player with limited oppurtunities and is still relatively young, he has the potential to be a top line midfielder. McGough is a young player who already has experience ball getting skills, a great tackler and great hands. McGough is a potential game winner, his 1/2 a game against Geelong this year where he got 19 disposals and 12 clearences in a half of football is evidence of that.
If Port wasn't happy with this they could then go on to trade these players for something they wan't if possible.

And also to my fellow Collingwood supporters, you are kind of clutching at straws suggesting that Nick Stevens should ask for a rediculous price. If that does eventuate there would be a huge uproar and investigation into the rules.

I was talking about the Stevens (non existant) deal.
Collingwood didn't lose anything by not gaining Stevens. Port Adelaide lost a high quality young player and got nothing for him.
However is there any chance of Stevens staying?
I hope not for Nick's sake as he will be not exactly welcomed back with open arms by the Port fans and even teammates.

if they do things within the rules the afl can't do s*** they can investigate as much as they want, they made the rules, the clubs followed it, just did things unethically, thats all. I agree stevens isn't likely to end up a pie from here.

i had a feeling that was what you were saying but wasn't sure. stevens may stay at the power, but i doubt it from here.
