From where I am standing Collingwood are the biggest losers in this trade by far.
Not so much for not getting Stevens who IMO has serious flaws in his game, but because it appears they have given the message to players that their word means zilch, nothing, zippo.
It appears that Collingwood had told him, or at the very least given the impression, that he was wanted there, yet when push came to shove they tried to get him for way below market place thinking PA would cave in.
Sorry chums, wrong Club.
If you really want a player then you have to be serious about it.
How can any player or player manager trust Collingwood in the future?

From where I stand Port are the big losers, got nothing for a fairly good player!
Mr Scott might just remove the whol sponsorship now!

If the trade was to have had an impact on his sponsorship, he probably would have removed it had they caved in, not the other way around.
Again, wrong club to try and bully.

We didn't try and bully anyone.
We laid out what we wanted to give you, you said no.
In the end we didn't lose anyone and we didn't give up anyone, I hardly call that a loss!
The truth is we didn't have much to trade with. McGough and Scotland was perhaps the best offer we had. We don't have that much depth in anywhere except the midfield and Port doesn't seem to want midfielders. We have to many untouchables.

No player is untouchable. how can you win a grand final with that attitude

you and your recruiting department lost face. You diminshed the value of your word, and hung stevens out to dry. He has only taken his stance, because he believed you would back him up.
you hung him out, and you will struggle to get anyone else to take you seriously.

No. the problem is you think you have too many untouchables, and as a result you did not improve your side.
you did the same thing with Everitt last year, when push comes to shove, the eddie empire doesn't back up it's talk.

Collingwood asked DIDAK about going to Port and he said 'I don't want to go to a club like that' Balme then saying 'I don't blame him'
